في العام العاشر للهجرة، وقف النبي محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام على مشارف ختام رسالته، ليقود أعظم تجمع إيماني في تاريخ الإسلام: حجّة الوداع. لم تكن مجرد رحلة حج، بل كانت محطة مفصلية أعلن فيها النبي اكتمال الدين، ووضع الأسس النهائية لمنظومة القيم الإسلامية التي ما زالت تهدي البشرية حتى اليوم.
تدفّق أكثر من مئة ألف مسلم إلى مكة المكرمة، يلبّون نداء التوحيد، في مشهد يعكس وحدة الأمة رغم اختلاف قبائلها وألسنتها. وفي يوم عرفة، ألقى النبي محمد عليه أفضل الصلاة والسلام خطبته الشهيرة التي تعد وثيقة إنسانية خالدة، أرست مبادئ العدل والمساواة، وأكدت حرمة الدماء والأموال والأعراض، قائلًا: «إن دماءكم وأموالكم وأعراضكم عليكم حرام…».
لم تقتصر رسائل حجّة الوداع على الجوانب التعبدية، بل شملت تنظيم العلاقات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية، حيث شدّد النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام على إلغاء الربا، ونصرة الحقوق، والرفق بالنساء، بقوله: «استوصوا بالنساء خيرًا». كما أرسى مبدأ المساواة بين البشر، مؤكدًا أن التفاضل ليس بالعرق أو النسب، بل بالتقوى والعمل الصالح.
وفي هذا الموقف العظيم، أعلن النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام إتمام الرسالة بقوله: «ألا هل بلغت؟»، ليشهد الحاضرون ويحمّلوا الأمانة إلى من بعدهم. ونزل قوله تعالى: ﴿اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم وأتممت عليكم نعمتي ورضيت لكم الإسلام دينًا﴾، في إعلان رباني بكمال هذا الدين وصلاحيته لكل زمان ومكان.
حجّة الوداع لم تكن نهاية، بل بداية لمسؤولية كبرى حملتها الأمة الإسلامية؛ مسؤولية الالتزام بالقيم التي أرساها نبي الأمه عليه الصلاة والسلام، ونقلها للأجيال القادمة. وفي زمن تتسارع فيه التحديات، تبقى هذه الحجة نموذجًا عمليًا لوحدة الصف، وعدالة التشريع، وسمو الأخلاق.
إن استحضار معاني حجّة الوداع اليوم ليس ترفًا معرفيًّا، بل ضرورة لإعادة بناء الوعي الجمعي على أسس الرحمة والعدل، التي جاء بها الإسلام، وطبّقها النبي محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام في أسمى صوره.
In the tenth year of the Hijra, the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, stood on the brink of the conclusion of his message, to lead the greatest spiritual gathering in the history of Islam: the Farewell Pilgrimage. It was not just a pilgrimage journey, but a pivotal moment in which the Prophet announced the completion of the religion and laid the final foundations of the Islamic value system that continues to guide humanity to this day.
More than one hundred thousand Muslims flowed into the holy city of Mecca, responding to the call of monotheism, in a scene that reflects the unity of the nation despite the differences in their tribes and tongues. On the Day of Arafah, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, delivered his famous sermon, which is considered an eternal human document, establishing the principles of justice and equality, and affirming the sanctity of blood, wealth, and honor, saying: “Indeed, your blood, your wealth, and your honor are sacred to you…”
The messages of the Farewell Pilgrimage were not limited to the acts of worship, but also included the organization of social and economic relations, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, emphasized the abolition of usury, the support of rights, and kindness towards women, saying: “Treat women kindly.” He also established the principle of equality among humans, affirming that superiority is not based on race or lineage, but on piety and good deeds.
In this great moment, the Prophet, peace be upon him, announced the completion of the message by saying: “O Allah, have I conveyed [the message]?” so that those present could witness and carry the trust to those who come after them. The verse of Allah was revealed: ﴿Today I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion﴾, in a divine announcement of the perfection of this religion and its suitability for all times and places.
The Farewell Pilgrimage was not an end, but the beginning of a great responsibility that the Islamic nation carried; the responsibility to adhere to the values established by the Prophet of the nations, peace be upon him, and to pass them on to future generations. In a time when challenges are accelerating, this pilgrimage remains a practical model of unity, justice in legislation, and the elevation of morals.
Recalling the meanings of the Farewell Pilgrimage today is not an intellectual luxury, but a necessity to rebuild collective awareness on the foundations of mercy and justice that Islam brought, and which the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, applied in its highest forms.
