يعدّ القارئ أحمد بن خليل بن شاهين بن أحمد بن قبيس، المولود عام 1375هـ في محافظة قنا بصعيد مصر، من أقرب الأصوات القرآنية للذائقة بحكم ما يمتلك من حنجرة نورانية.
التحق شاهين بالدراسة في المرحلة الابتدائية، وبدأ حفظ القرآن، ونجح في حفظه خلال عامين على يد الشيخ أحمد السيد كيلاني يرحمه الله، وقبل أن ينهي المرحلة الابتدائية انتقل والده إلى رحمة الله إلا أن طموحه لن يتوقف، إذ انتقل إلى محافظة سوهاج، والتقى فيها الشيخ محمد عبدالرحمن البليني الذي قرأ عليه بعض أجزاء القرآن وأجازه فيها ثم عاد بعد ذلك إلى بلدته، واتجه إلى القاهرة؛ ليكمل بها ما بدأه في قريته، وليلتقي بالشيخ السيد محمد عباس- رحمه الله- وقرأ عليه القرآن، وأيضاً قرأ على الشيخ عامر السيد عثمان، والتحق بمعهد القراءات بالأزهر الشريف، ودرس التجويد لمدة عامين، وتبعه بمرحلة في القراءات، وأمضى بها ثلاثة أعوام، وأتمها بمرحلة التخصص في القراءات، وألمّ بالقراءات السبع والقراءات العشر الصغرى والقراءات العشر الكبرى واستفاد خلال دراسته من عدد كبير من العلماء البارزين، أمثال الشيخ حسن الحلاواني والشيخ محمد العتل والشيخ عبدالرؤوف بري وعبدالرحمن البري والشيخ أحمد مصطفى حسنو.
عمل مدرساً، ولا يزال في مدارس تفسير القرآن الكريم في المملكة، إضافة إلى عمله في حلقات القرآن الكريم في المساجد، وأسهم في دورات المعلمين، التي تقيمها وزارة التربية والتعليم في المملكة، وشارك في الإشراف على مسابقات قرآنية عدة، مثل مسابقة الملك سلمان لحفظ القرآن الكريم، ومسابقة الحرس الوطني، ومسابقة إدارة التعليم في الرياض، إلى جانب مساهمته في العديد من الندوات العلمية الخاصة في مجال القرآن وعلومه في الداخل والخارج، وقام بتسجيل المصحف المرتل كاملاً لإذاعة القرآن الكريم في المملكة.
The reader Ahmad bin Khalil bin Shahin bin Ahmad bin Qabees, born in 1375 AH in Qena Governorate in Upper Egypt, is considered one of the closest Quranic voices to the taste due to his luminous voice.
Shahin began his studies in primary school and started memorizing the Quran, successfully completing it within two years under the guidance of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Sayed Kilaney, may God have mercy on him. Before finishing primary school, his father passed away, but his ambition did not stop. He moved to Sohag Governorate, where he met Sheikh Muhammad Abdulrahman Al-Bilini, who taught him some parts of the Quran and granted him permission in it. He then returned to his hometown and headed to Cairo to continue what he had started in his village, where he met Sheikh Sayed Muhammad Abbas, may God have mercy on him, and read the Quran with him. He also studied under Sheikh Amer Sayed Othman and enrolled in the Quranic recitation institute at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, studying Tajweed for two years, followed by a stage in recitations, spending three years in it, and completing it with a specialization in recitations. He mastered the seven recitations, the ten minor recitations, and the ten major recitations, benefiting from a large number of prominent scholars during his studies, such as Sheikh Hassan Al-Halawani, Sheikh Muhammad Al-‘Attal, Sheikh Abdul-Raouf Bari, Abdulrahman Bari, and Sheikh Ahmad Mustafa Hasno.
He worked as a teacher and continues to teach in the schools of Quranic interpretation in the Kingdom, in addition to his work in Quranic circles in mosques. He contributed to teacher training courses organized by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom and participated in supervising several Quranic competitions, such as the King Salman Competition for Memorizing the Quran, the National Guard Competition, and the Education Administration Competition in Riyadh, along with his contributions to many scientific seminars related to the Quran and its sciences both domestically and abroad. He also recorded the entire Quran in a melodious recitation for the Quran Radio in the Kingdom.
