تربع فريق الأهلي على صدارة دوري روشن السعودي للمحترفين بعد فوزه الصعب على مضيفه الرياض بهدف دون مقابل في اللقاء الذي جمعهما على ملعب مدينة الأمير فيصل بن فهد الرياضية بالرياض، وذلك ضمن لقاءات الجولة الـ24 لدوري المحترفين.
بدأ اللقاء قوياً من جانب فريق الأهلي الذي بحث عن النقاط الثلاث، فيما اعتمد فريق الرياض على التكتل الدفاعي والاعتماد على الهجمات المرتدة وكاد البرازيلي جالينو نجم الأهلي أن يهز شباك الرياض في محاولتين ولكن الحارس ميلان بوريان تألق في التصدي.
وفي الشوط الثاني، تمكن الأهلي من تحقيق مراده بهز شباك الرياض ولكن الهدف كان بالخطأ من الحارس ميلان الذي أراد إبعاد الكرة التي نفذها صالح أبو الشامات من ركلة زاوية ولكنه حوَّل الكرة بالخطأ لداخل مرماه (د: 75)، وتمكن الأهلي من إحراز هدف آخر بعد انطلاقة مميزة من المدافع ايبانيز ولعبها عرضية لزميله ايفان توني ليسددها في المرمى ولكن راية التسلل كانت حاضرة لينتهي اللقاء بفوز الأهلي بهدف دون مقابل.
وبهذه النتيجة يحقق الأهلي فوزه الـ18 ويصل للنقطة 59 متربعاً على صدارة الدوري، فيما تلقى الرياض الخسارة الـ14 وتجمد رصيده عند 16 نقطة في المركز الـ15.
The Al-Ahli team topped the Saudi Pro League after a hard-fought victory over their host, Riyadh, with a score of one goal to none in the match held at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, as part of the 24th round of the Pro League.
The match started strongly for Al-Ahli, who were in search of three points, while the Riyadh team relied on defensive clustering and counter-attacks. Brazilian star Jaleeno nearly scored for Al-Ahli on two occasions, but goalkeeper Milan Borjan excelled in making the saves.
In the second half, Al-Ahli managed to achieve their goal by scoring against Riyadh, but the goal was an own goal by goalkeeper Milan, who attempted to clear the ball from a corner taken by Saleh Abu al-Shamat but accidentally redirected it into his own net (75th minute). Al-Ahli then scored another goal after a remarkable run by defender Ibanez, who crossed it to his teammate Ivan Toney to shoot at the goal, but the offside flag was raised, ending the match with Al-Ahli winning one goal to none.
With this result, Al-Ahli achieves their 18th victory and reaches 59 points, sitting at the top of the league, while Riyadh suffers their 14th loss, remaining at 16 points in 15th place.
