أحياناً عندما يقع أي لاعب في خطأ يخص المجتمع وأخلاقياته ليس بالضرورة يكون الهدف من الانتقاد معاقبة اللاعب، بل إن الهدف هو تعديل السلوك بالطريقة المناسبة التي تضمن عدم تكراره. في مباراتين متتاليتين ارتكب مهاجم الأهلي الإنجليزي إيفان توني سلوكاً شائناً في حق المجتمع، وساعده على ذلك مخرج المباراة عندما سمح لكاميرا المباراة أن تحتضن تلك الحركات، وتنقل للمشاهدين، دون مراعاة للمجتمع. من يعتقد أن كل من انتقدوا تلك الحركات كان هدفهم معاقبة اللاعب بالإيقاف، حتى تستفيد الأندية المنافسة، لم يجانبه الصواب، فإيفان توني إلى فترة قريبة لم يكن مرحباً باستمراره مع الأهلي، وجمهور الأهلي كان يطالب بشكل متواصل باستبداله والبحث عن مهاجم أفضل منه. وفي واقع الأمر توني ليس بالمهاجم المؤثر والقوي الذي من الممكن أن يخشاه المدافعون، أو يشعرون بخوف منه، هو لاعب يستفيد من الهجمات الجاهزة أمام المرمى، بالرغم أنه يُضيع أكثرها.
بغض النظر عن القوانين والأنظمة الخاصة بهذا الشأن، كان يفترض من الجهاز الإداري في النادي الأهلي أن يناقش اللاعب في مثل هذه التصرفات، وأن يشرح له طبيعة المجتمع السعودي، وأن لكل مجتمع خصوصيته وأسلوبه في الحياة. أعتقد لو أن هذا الأمر تم لن تصدر عن توني مثل تلك التصرفات. والغريب في الأمر إصرار مخرج المباراة على إعادة الحركة أكثر من مرة، وكان يفترض من باب المهنية والحفاظ على المجتمع أن يمتنع عن إعادتها، ويكتفي باللقطة الأولى.
عموماً، ما يصدر من تصرفات من بعض اللاعبين الأجانب الذين جاءوا من بيئة مختلفة لا يمكن أن نحملهم كامل مسؤوليته؛ لأن المفترض أن تقوم إدارات الأندية بإعطائهم نبذة عن الوضع ومستوى التعامل داخل الملعب أثناء الفرح والغضب، وتكون هناك محاسبة من إدارة الأندية، حتى لو لم تصدر في حقهم عقوبات نظامية، ولا يمكن أن نغلّب الجانب الفني على الجانب الأخلاقي، وهو أمر لا يمكن قبوله.
في مجتمعنا أطفال وسيدات يتابعون المباريات، من المسؤولية أن نقدم لهم كل ما يناسبهم وينسجم مع تربيتهم وأخلاقهم.
Sometimes, when any player makes a mistake related to society and its ethics, the goal of criticism is not necessarily to punish the player, but rather to modify behavior in a way that ensures it does not happen again. In two consecutive matches, English Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney committed a disgraceful act against society, aided by the match director who allowed the match camera to capture those movements and broadcast them to viewers, without regard for the community. Those who believe that everyone who criticized those actions aimed to punish the player with a suspension, so that competing clubs could benefit, are mistaken. Until recently, Ivan Toney was not welcomed to continue with Al-Ahli, and the Al-Ahli fans were continuously calling for his replacement and for searching for a better striker. In reality, Toney is not the impactful and strong striker that defenders might fear; he is a player who benefits from ready-made attacks in front of the goal, despite missing most of them.
Regardless of the laws and regulations concerning this matter, the administrative staff at Al-Ahli should have discussed such behaviors with the player and explained to him the nature of Saudi society, emphasizing that each community has its own peculiarities and way of life. I believe that if this had been addressed, Toney would not have exhibited such behaviors. What is strange is the insistence of the match director to replay the action multiple times; it would have been more professional and responsible to refrain from replaying it and to stick with the first shot.
In general, the actions of some foreign players who come from different environments cannot be entirely blamed on them; it is the responsibility of club management to provide them with an overview of the situation and the level of interaction on the field during moments of joy and anger. There should also be accountability from club management, even if no formal penalties are imposed on them, and we cannot prioritize the technical aspect over the ethical one, which is something that cannot be accepted.
In our society, there are children and women who watch the matches; it is our responsibility to present them with everything that suits them and aligns with their upbringing and morals.
