ترأس الأمير مقرن بن عبدالعزيز الاجتماع السنوي للمجلس الفخري لجامعة الأمير مقرن بن عبدالعزيز، بحضور الأمير تركي بن فيصل بن عبدالعزيز، والأمير فيصل بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز نائب رئيس المجلس الفخري، والأمير فيصل بن مقرن بن عبدالعزيز رئيس مجلس جمعية البيان الخيرية للتعليم -الجهة المالكة للجامعة- إضافةً إلى وزير التعليم يوسف عبدالله البنيان، ووزير الحج والعمرة الدكتور توفيق بن فوزان الربيعة، ورئيس هيئة البيانات والذكاء الاصطناعي الدكتور عبدالله شرف الغامدي، وعدد من أعضاء المجلس، ورئيس الجامعة الدكتور بندر بن محمد حجار.
وفي مستهل الاجتماع، ألقى الأمير مقرن كلمة أكد فيها ما يحظى به قطاع التعليم من دعم ورعاية من خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان، مشيراً إلى أن هذا الاهتمام يأتي امتداداً لحرص القيادة على بناء جيل من قادة المستقبل القادرين على صناعة نهضة الوطن.
عقب ذلك، استعرض مساعد رئيس المجلس الفخري قيس جليدان، تقريراً عن أعمال الجامعة، تلاه عرضٌ مفصلٌ من رئيس الجامعة حول مسيرتها التعليمية والبحثية وخدماتها المجتمعية، إضافة إلى حصول برامج كلية الهندسة وكلية الحاسب الآلي والعلوم السيبرانية على اعتماد ABET العالمي.
كما شهد الاجتماع استعراض منجزات كرسي الأمير فيصل بن سلمان لأنسنة المدن، وتسليم الأمير تركي بن مقرن بن عبدالعزيز -رئيس مجلس الأمناء- شهادة الدكتوراه الفخرية من الجامعة الأمريكية في سويسرا (AUS). واستمع الحضور إلى نماذج من نجاحات طلاب وطالبات الجامعة محلياً وعالمياً في مجالاتهم التعليمية والبحثية.
وفي ختام الاجتماع، جرى توقيع عدد من الاتفاقيات الدولية مع جامعات عالمية مرموقة، وذلك تعزيزاً لتوجه الجامعة نحو التميز والريادة العالمية.
Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz chaired the annual meeting of the Honorary Council of Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University, attended by Prince Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Vice President of the Honorary Council, Prince Faisal bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Bayaan Charity Association for Education – the entity that owns the university – in addition to Minister of Education Yusuf Abdullah Al-Bunyan, Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Chairman of the Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority Dr. Abdullah Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, several council members, and the university president Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Hajar.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prince Muqrin delivered a speech in which he emphasized the support and care that the education sector receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, noting that this attention is an extension of the leadership’s commitment to building a generation of future leaders capable of driving the nation’s renaissance.
Following that, the Assistant to the Honorary Council President Qais Jlaydan presented a report on the university’s activities, followed by a detailed presentation from the university president regarding its educational and research journey and its community services, in addition to the accreditation of the College of Engineering and the College of Computer Science and Cybersecurity by the global ABET.
The meeting also witnessed a presentation of the achievements of the Prince Faisal bin Salman Chair for Humanizing Cities, and the handing over of an honorary doctorate certificate from the American University in Switzerland (AUS) to Prince Turki bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz – Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The attendees listened to examples of the successes of the university’s students locally and globally in their educational and research fields.
At the end of the meeting, several international agreements were signed with prestigious global universities, enhancing the university’s direction towards excellence and global leadership.
