انتخبت إيران مرشدها الجديد مجتبى خامنئي بشكل دراماتيكي خلفاً لوالده بدعم من الحرس الثوري، وما زال الأمر غير واضح إذا ما كانت هناك موافقة أمريكية غير معلنة عليه، أو ترتيب بين الطرفين لاختياره، أم أنه قرار إيراني منفرد يمكن أن يُغضب الرئيس الهائج دونالد ترمب، الذي أكد على ضرورة موافقته على من سيأتي، وبالتالي إما أن يكون ما حدث ترتيباً يقود للتهدئة أو تحديّاً إيرانياً يرفع وتيرة الحرب. وعلى أي حال فإن التقارير التي بثها الإعلام ليلة اختياره غير مبشّرة لارتباطه الكبير بالحرس الثوري ولكونه محسوباً على الجناح المتشدّد.
وعلى أي حال فقد كان ضمن الاحتفال بتنصيبه مرشداً تكثيف الهجمات العدوانية على دول الخليج، فقد كانت حفلة صواريخ ومسيّرات بجرعات عالية، وبدأ الإعلان عن إصابات بشرية وتأثر مرافق حيوية، وهذا يتوافق مع تصريحات مجلس الخبراء بعد اختيار مجتبى بأنه سيمضي على الخط الثوري الذي انتهجه والده، وهذا يعني أننا إزاء مزيد من التصعيد إذا استمر مجتبى، ولا ندري إلى ماذا ستنتهي إليه تهديدات ترمب.
العالم بدأ يشهد أزمة حقيقية في أسعار الطاقة وسلاسل الإمداد، التوتر يزداد في منطقة الخليج تحسباً لأي كارثة قد تحدث إذا ما أصابت الهجمات حقول النفط ومصافيه رغم فعالية الردع الجوي إلى الآن. إيران منفلتة في هجماتها على دول الخليج ويبدو أن هذا الجانب لا يهم أمريكا وحلفائها كثيراً، فلم نسمع ما يوحي بتقديرهم لمخاطره على العالم أجمع في حالة استمراره.
مواقف الدول الكبرى مستمرة في الضبابية، أمريكا وحدها تقود المشهد وإسرائيل تضرب معها. لا موقف سياسي واضح لدى المجتمع الدولي، ومن يتحدث بما يتعارض مع خطة أمريكا سيتعرض لعقابها. تأخر أمريكا عن حصر الحرب بينها وبين إيران بتحييد دول الخليج من الهجمات الإيرانية سوف يؤدي إلى نتائج وخيمة في كل الحالات.

It remains unclear whether there is an unannounced American approval of this decision, or an arrangement between the two parties for his selection, or if it is a unilateral Iranian decision that could anger the volatile President Donald Trump, who has emphasized the necessity of his approval for who will come next. Thus, what has happened could either be an arrangement leading to de-escalation or an Iranian challenge that raises the stakes of war. In any case, the reports broadcasted by the media on the night of his selection are not promising due to his strong ties to the Revolutionary Guard and his affiliation with the hardline faction.
Moreover, the celebration of his appointment as leader was marked by an intensification of aggressive attacks on Gulf countries, featuring a barrage of missiles and drones in high doses. Announcements began to emerge regarding human casualties and the impact on vital facilities, which aligns with the statements of the Assembly of Experts after Mojtaba’s selection that he would continue on the revolutionary path his father took. This means we are facing further escalation if Mojtaba continues, and we do not know where Trump’s threats will ultimately lead.
The world is beginning to witness a real crisis in energy prices and supply chains, with tensions rising in the Gulf region in anticipation of any disaster that may occur if attacks hit oil fields and refineries, despite the effectiveness of air deterrence so far. Iran is ramping up its attacks on Gulf countries, and it seems that this aspect does not concern the U.S. and its allies much, as we have not heard anything suggesting they appreciate the risks it poses to the entire world if it continues.
The positions of major countries remain unclear. The U.S. is solely leading the scene while Israel strikes alongside it. There is no clear political stance from the international community, and anyone who speaks against America’s plan will face its wrath. America’s delay in confining the war to a conflict between itself and Iran while neutralizing Gulf countries from Iranian attacks will lead to dire consequences in all cases.
