قبل أيام التقيت بمعالي الرئيس التنفيذي للهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء الأستاذ الدكتور هشام بن سعد الجضعي، في حوارٍ اتّسم بالشفافية وعمق الطرح، واستعرض فيه معاليه آليات ومعايير عمل الهيئة، ومنهجيتها الصارمة في الرقابة على الغذاء والدواء، ودورها الحيوي في تعزيز سلامة المنتجات وصون صحة المجتمع.
في الواقع، أرى دائمًا أن ما ينقص كل مشروع وكل مؤسسة وكل منظومة هو صناعة فلسفة أعمق تتجاوز مفهوم الرقابة والأنظمة؛ لتؤسّس لشراكة واعية بين المؤسسة والمجتمع، قوامها صناعة مواطن ومقيم مسؤول اجتماعيًا، يدرك أن سلامته الصحية وحقوقه وواجباته لا تقوم على الأنظمة وحدها، بل على وعيه وسلوكه واختياراته اليومية.
لذلك كانت مشاركتي في هذا اللقاء منصبة على محور التوعية والمسؤولية المجتمعية، بوصفهما حجر الأساس في بناء مجتمعٍ صحي وآمن. فالجهات التنظيمية، مهما بلغت دقتها وكفاءتها، تظل بحاجة إلى مجتمعٍ واعٍ يُحسن التفاعل مع الرسائل التوعوية، ويستوعب أهمية الاستخدام الآمن للدواء، ويتعامل مع الغذاء بوصفه عنصرًا أساسيًا في جودة الحياة، لا مجرد استهلاكٍ يومي عابر.
إن صناعة المواطن والمقيم المسؤول اجتماعيًا تبدأ من بناء الوعي، والوعي لا يُفرض، بل يُبنى بالتراكم، ويترسّخ بالتثقيف، ويُثمر بالممارسة وذلك حين يدرك الفرد خطورة تداول الشائعات الصحية، وأهمية الالتزام بالإرشادات الدوائية، وضرورة التحقق من مصادر الغذاء وسلامته، فإنه لا يحمي نفسه فحسب، بل يسهم في حماية المجتمع بأكمله.
وفي هذا السياق، يتجلى الدور التكاملي لهيئة الغذاء والدواء، ليس فقط كجهة رقابية، بل كجهة توعوية تؤمن بأن الوقاية تبدأ من المعرفة، وأن المسؤولية المجتمعية شراكة ممتدة بين المؤسسة والفرد، فكل رسالة توعوية تصل، وكل معلومة صحيحة تُنشر، وكل سلوك واعٍ يُمارس، هو لبنة في بناء مجتمعٍ أكثر أمانًا وصحة واستدامة.
أرى بأننا اليوم أمام مرحلةٍ تتطلب إعادة تعريف المسؤولية المجتمعية، بحيث لا تقتصر على المبادرات الموسمية، بل تصبح ثقافة يومية وسلوكًا أصيلًا، فالمجتمع الواعي هو خط الدفاع الأول، وهو الشريك الحقيقي في تحقيق مستهدفات جودة الحياة، وهو الأساس الذي تُبنى عليه التنمية المستدامة.
ختامًا .. الاستثمار في وعي المواطن والمقيم ليس خيارًا تكميليًا، بل ضرورة وطنية، لأن الإنسان الواعي هو القادر على حماية نفسه، والإسهام في حماية مجتمعه، وصناعة مستقبلٍ أكثر أمنًا وصحة وازدهارًا.
A few days ago, I met with His Excellency the CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, Professor Dr. Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadhai, in a dialogue characterized by transparency and depth of discussion. In this meeting, His Excellency reviewed the mechanisms and standards of the Authority’s work, its strict methodology in monitoring food and drugs, and its vital role in enhancing product safety and safeguarding community health.
In fact, I always see that what every project, institution, and system lacks is the creation of a deeper philosophy that transcends the concept of regulation and systems; to establish a conscious partnership between the institution and the community, based on creating socially responsible citizens and residents who understand that their health safety, rights, and duties do not rely solely on regulations, but on their awareness, behavior, and daily choices.
Therefore, my participation in this meeting focused on the axis of awareness and social responsibility, as they are the cornerstone in building a healthy and safe community. Regulatory bodies, no matter how precise and efficient they are, still need a conscious community that effectively interacts with awareness messages, understands the importance of safe drug use, and treats food as a fundamental element in quality of life, not just a fleeting daily consumption.
The creation of socially responsible citizens and residents begins with building awareness, and awareness is not imposed; it is built through accumulation, solidified through education, and bears fruit through practice. When individuals recognize the dangers of circulating health rumors, the importance of adhering to drug guidelines, and the necessity of verifying food sources and their safety, they not only protect themselves but also contribute to the protection of the entire community.
In this context, the complementary role of the Food and Drug Authority is evident, not only as a regulatory body but also as an awareness entity that believes that prevention starts with knowledge, and that social responsibility is an extended partnership between the institution and the individual. Every awareness message that reaches the public, every accurate piece of information that is disseminated, and every conscious behavior that is practiced is a building block in creating a safer, healthier, and more sustainable community.
I believe that we are now at a stage that requires redefining social responsibility, so that it does not only encompass seasonal initiatives, but becomes a daily culture and an inherent behavior. A conscious community is the first line of defense, the true partner in achieving quality of life targets, and the foundation upon which sustainable development is built.
In conclusion, investing in the awareness of citizens and residents is not a complementary option, but a national necessity, because an aware individual is capable of protecting themselves and contributing to the protection of their community, and in creating a future that is safer, healthier, and more prosperous.
