تسببت العاصفة «مارتا» المصحوبة بأمطار غزيرة ورياح عاتية في أضرار واسعة عبر شبه الجزيرة الأيبيرية، مع تسجيل وفيات وتعطّل مرافق وخسائر زراعية كبيرة، فيما تستعد إسبانيا والبرتغال لمزيد من الأحوال الجوية المتطرفة.
وحذّرت هيئة الأرصاد الجوية الإسبانية، من ثلوج وظروف خطرة على السواحل ومزيد من الأمطار، وأصدرت تحذيرًا باللون البرتقالي. كما أعلنت رابطة الدوري الإسباني تأجيل مباراة إشبيلية وجيرونا بسبب سوء الأحوال الجوية.
وفي إسبانيا، أفادت خدمات الطوارئ بوفاة سائق جرافة ثلوج بعد سقوط مركبته من منحدر بارتفاع (20) مترًا في ممر جبل إل بيكو بمحافظة أفيلا شمال البلاد. وفي البرتغال، لقي رجل (46 عامًا) حتفه غرقًا في نهر بمنطقة كامبو مايور في إقليم بورتاليغري.
واضطر أكثر من (11) ألف شخص إلى مغادرة منازلهم في جنوب إسبانيا، وأُغلق نحو (170) طريقًا في مناطق مختلفة، وتعطلت خدمات السكك الحديدية في البرتغال. وأعلنت وزارة الزراعة البرتغالية أن الخسائر الأولية في قطاعي الزراعة والغابات تُقدَّر بنحو (750) مليون يورو، مع توقعات بتفاقم الأضرار.
وقال مزارعون إن الأمطار والرياح غمرت الحقول وألحقت أضرارًا بملايين اليورو بمحاصيل مثل البروكلي والجزر والقرنبيط، واصفين الوضع بـ«كارثة طبيعية»، ومؤكدين التوجه لطلب دعم حكومي للتعافي.
وأثار ارتفاع منسوب المياه مخاوف من انهيارات أرضية، بينما أبلغ سكان بلدات في سلسلة جبال سيرانيا دي روندا بمحافظة ملقة عن هزات أرضية خلال الأيام الماضية، أكدت بلدية كورتيس دي لا فرونتيرا أنها لا تشكّل خطرًا، مع إرسال مختصين للمراقبة. كما جرى إجلاء مناطق قرب نهر الوادي الكبير في قرطبة، وحذّرت نائبة رئيس الوزراء الإسباني من بلوغ النهر ذروته اليوم أو غدًا.
وفي البرتغال، أدت الأمطار الغزيرة إلى تأجيل الانتخابات الرئاسية في ثلاث مدن إلى الأسبوع القادم، ونُشر أكثر من (26,500) من عمال الإنقاذ للتعامل مع آثار العواصف.

In Spain, emergency services reported the death of a snowplow driver after his vehicle fell from a 20-meter-high slope in the El Pico mountain pass in the province of Ávila in the north of the country. In Portugal, a 46-year-old man drowned in a river in the Campo Maior area of the Portalegre district.
More than 11,000 people were forced to leave their homes in southern Spain, around 170 roads were closed in various areas, and rail services were disrupted in Portugal. The Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture announced that initial losses in the agriculture and forestry sectors are estimated at around 750 million euros, with expectations of worsening damage.
Farmers reported that the rains and winds flooded fields and caused millions of euros in damage to crops such as broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower, describing the situation as a “natural disaster,” and confirming plans to seek government support for recovery.
The rising water levels raised concerns about landslides, while residents of towns in the Serranía de Ronda mountain range in the province of Málaga reported tremors in recent days, with the municipality of Cortes de la Frontera confirming that they do not pose a risk, sending specialists to monitor the situation. Areas near the Great Valley River in Córdoba were evacuated, and the Spanish Deputy Prime Minister warned that the river could reach its peak today or tomorrow.
In Portugal, heavy rains led to the postponement of presidential elections in three cities until next week, and over 26,500 rescue workers were deployed to deal with the aftermath of the storms.
