– ارتبط اسم رئيس نادي أُحد الأسبق، علي فودة، بكيان النادي ارتباطاً وثيقاً؛ فلم يكن مجرد اسمٍ عابر في رياضة المدينة المنورة، بل كانت له بصمة لا يمحوها التاريخ. ورغم محاولات إبعاده عن المعترك الرياضي، ظل الفودة عاشقاً ومحباً لهذا الكيان، مستمراً في دعمه، حتى وإن تم إبعاده بطريقة لا تليق كلياً بتاريخه وتضحياته. لم يلهث خلف المنصب أو العودة، بل ظل داعماً برأيه وفكره حتى ابتعد عن المشهد، ليسقط النادي بعدها في مكانة لا تليق بتاريخ هذا الكيان العريق.
– لقد قضى الفودة سنوات طويلة، امتدت لأكثر من ستين عاماً، وهو يحارب لبقاء الكيان شامخاً. ورغم كل العقبات والتحديات والصعوبات، ظل كالجبل في وجه الأزمات، يحارب شح المال وقلة الدعم، حتى وصل به الأمر إلى إنفاق ماله الخاص من أجل رفعة النادي.
– أحدثكم من واقعٍ قريب؛ كنت أجده عند زيارتي له مهموماً بتلك التركة الثقيلة والمسؤولية التاريخية. في تلك الحقبة، كانت الأندية تعاني، ولم يكن الأمر كما هو الآن من حوكمة ودعم حكومي سخي؛ بل كان رؤساء الأندية يتحملون مسؤولية الصرف من جيوبهم الخاصة، وقد يصل الأمر للاقتراض لتأمين سلف المباريات وتسيير أمور النادي.
– أكتب عن علي فودة الآن بالتحديد لأنه يمر بعارض صحي صعب، ومن المؤلم ألا يجد حوله في هذه المحنة سوى المقربين جداً منه.
– إن علي فودة يمثل عمقاً تاريخياً لنادي أُحد، والوقوف معه اليوم «مطلب» وواجب. ونحن على ثقة بأن وزير الرياضة الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي الفيصل، يقدر ويثمن الرياضيين الذين كانت لهم بصمات وأيادٍ بيضاء على الرياضة السعودية.
– لقد قدمت عائلة فودة الكثير للوطن؛ بداية من علي فودة مهندس الفترة الذهبية لنادي أُحد، وشقيقه محمد فودة الذي يعد أحد أبرز الأسماء التحكيمية والتحليلية، وشقيقهما عبدالله فودة (العمدة) أحد رموز المنتخب السعودي ونادي الهلال، وصولاً إلى الأخ الثالث عبدالعزيز فودة الذي خدم طويلاً في ملاعب كرة القدم كحكم وإداري.
– خصصت هذا المقال إحقاقاً للحق؛ فـ«علي فودة» لم يتم إنصافه في نهاية مشواره، وهو الآن يصارع عارضاً صحياً ويحتاج لوقفة الجميع ودعائهم.

Despite attempts to distance him from the sports arena, Foda remained a lover and supporter of this entity, continuing his support even when he was removed in a manner that was entirely unworthy of his history and sacrifices. He did not chase after positions or a return, but remained a supporter with his opinions and thoughts until he distanced himself from the scene, after which the club fell into a status unworthy of this prestigious entity.
– Foda spent many long years, extending over sixty years, fighting for the survival of the entity in a dignified manner. Despite all the obstacles, challenges, and difficulties, he stood like a mountain in the face of crises, battling financial scarcity and lack of support, to the extent that he ended up spending his own money for the betterment of the club.
– I speak to you from a close reality; I would find him, during my visits, burdened by that heavy legacy and historical responsibility. In that era, clubs were struggling, and it was not like it is now with governance and generous government support; rather, club presidents bore the responsibility of spending from their own pockets, and it could reach the point of borrowing to secure the advance payments for matches and manage the affairs of the club.
– I am writing about Ali Foda now specifically because he is going through a difficult health issue, and it is painful that he finds around him only those very close to him during this ordeal.
– Ali Foda represents a historical depth for the Uhud Club, and standing by him today is a “demand” and a duty. We are confident that the Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, appreciates and values the athletes who have left their marks and made significant contributions to Saudi sports.
– The Foda family has given a lot to the nation; starting with Ali Foda, the architect of the golden era of the Uhud Club, and his brother Muhammad Foda, who is considered one of the most prominent refereeing and analytical names, and their brother Abdullah Foda (the mayor), one of the symbols of the Saudi national team and Al-Hilal Club, up to the third brother Abdulaziz Foda, who served long in football fields as a referee and administrator.
– I dedicated this article to uphold the truth; for “Ali Foda” has not been treated justly at the end of his journey, and he is now battling a health issue and needs everyone’s support and prayers.
