أحرص دائمًا على قراءة أي بيان سعودي دبلوماسي مع كل أزمة أو حدث أو موقف طارئ؛ لأنني، صدقًا، أطرب لبلاغة الصياغة ودقة اختيار الألفاظ ودلالاتها. وفي كل بيان سعودي أجد الحنكة والحكمة والبراعة في النسج، وهذا ما وجدته أيضًا في البيان المشترك بشأن هجمات إيران الصاروخية والطائرات المسيّرة في المنطقة، الصادر مؤخرًا على خلفية الأحداث الأخيرة.
وفي الواقع، فإن البيانات المشتركة لا تأتي بوصفها نصوصًا دبلوماسية عابرة؛ بل تتحول في لحظات التوتر والأزمات إلى مرايا تعكس طريقة تفكير الدول، وعمقها السياسي، وحدود انفعالها، وتكشف كيف تختار أن تضع أقدامها بثبات في لحظة إقليمية حساسة، وربما حازمة.
لذلك كله، فإن البيان الصادر عن المملكة العربية السعودية، ومملكة البحرين، والمملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، ودولة الكويت، ودولة قطر، ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، بشأن الهجمات الصاروخية والطائرات المسيّرة الإيرانية، لم يكن بيان إدانة تقليديًا؛ بل كان نصًا محسوب الصياغة في كلياته، ومدروس المفردة في جزئياته، واضح الرسالة، منضبط الإيقاع.
منذ السطر الأول، اختار البيان توصيفًا أخلاقيًا وقانونيًا للفعل حين انتقى كلمات: «عشوائية»، «متهورة»، «غير مبررة»، «تصعيد خطير». هذا التدرّج ليس لغويًا فحسب؛ بل هو بناء مقصود لنزع الشرعية السياسية والقانونية عن الهجوم، وتحويله من حدث عسكري إلى سلوك يهدد منظومة الاستقرار الإقليمي بأكملها.
اللافت أيضًا أن البيان لم يكتفِ بإدانة الهجوم؛ بل أعاد تمركز القضية حول مفهوم «السيادة». فتكرار عبارة «الأراضي ذات السيادة» أكثر من مرة يعكس رغبة واضحة في تأطير الحدث ضمن قواعد القانون الدولي، لا ضمن منطق الاشتباك والنزاع السياسي. وكأن الرسالة تقول: المسألة ليست مواجهة عسكرية عابرة، وإنما اختبار لقاعدة أساسية في النظام الدولي.
وفي متن البيان برزت عبارة: «نؤكد مجددًا حقنا في الدفاع عن النفس» بوصفها أكثر الجمل كثافة في معناها. فهي صياغة هادئة، رزينة، لكنها حاسمة؛ تستند ضمنيًا إلى الشرعية الدولية، دون أن تنزلق إلى خطاب تهديد مباشر. وهذه اللغة الحازمة لا تُحسنها إلا الدول التي تتحدث بمنطق القانون، لا بمنطق الانفعال وردّ الفعل.
كما أشار البيان في عبارته «التعاون الفعال في مجال الدفاع الجوي والصاروخي» إلى رسالة مزدوجة: طمأنة للداخل بأن منظومات الحماية نجحت، وتنبيه للخارج بأن شبكة الردع قائمة ومتماسكة في آن واحد. وهذه الصياغة البارعة في إيجازها قادت إلى المعنى السياسي بحزم وقوة وثبات، دون إطناب مخل.
والأهم من كل ذلك أن البيان لم يُختتم بلغة انتقام، بل بلغة التزام: «نؤكد التزامنا بالأمن الإقليمي». ففي خضم التصعيد، وبين كل هذه الفوضى، اختارت الدول الواثقة من موقفها السياسي وتاريخها، أن تُعرّف نفسها بوصفها حارسة للاستقرار، لا طرفًا في فوضى مفتوحة أو مصير مجهول.
ختامًا… هكذا تُصاغ البيانات حين تريد الدول أن تُظهر القوة دون استعراض، والحزم دون تهور، والردع دون ضجيج. إنه خطاب دولة، لا خطاب لحظة.
I always make sure to read any Saudi diplomatic statement with every crisis, event, or emergency situation; because, honestly, I am delighted by the eloquence of the phrasing and the precision of the word choices and their connotations. In every Saudi statement, I find the shrewdness, wisdom, and skill in weaving the narrative, and this is what I also found in the joint statement regarding Iran’s missile and drone attacks in the region, recently issued in light of the recent events.
In fact, joint statements do not come as mere passing diplomatic texts; rather, they transform in moments of tension and crises into mirrors reflecting the way countries think, their political depth, the limits of their emotions, and reveal how they choose to firmly place their feet in a sensitive, and perhaps decisive, regional moment.
For all these reasons, the statement issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Kuwait, the State of Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates regarding the Iranian missile and drone attacks was not a traditional condemnation statement; rather, it was a carefully crafted text in its entirety, with thoughtfully chosen words in its details, clear in its message, and rhythmically structured.
From the very first line, the statement chose an ethical and legal characterization of the act when it selected words like: “random,” “reckless,” “unjustified,” “serious escalation.” This gradation is not merely linguistic; it is an intentional construction aimed at stripping the political and legal legitimacy from the attack, transforming it from a military event into behavior that threatens the entire regional stability system.
It is also noteworthy that the statement did not settle for condemning the attack; rather, it re-centered the issue around the concept of “sovereignty.” The repeated phrase “sovereign territories” more than once reflects a clear desire to frame the event within the rules of international law, not within the logic of confrontation and political conflict. As if the message is saying: the issue is not a fleeting military confrontation, but rather a test of a fundamental principle in the international system.
In the body of the statement, the phrase: “we reaffirm our right to self-defense” emerged as the most densely meaningful sentence. It is a calm, measured formulation, yet decisive; it implicitly relies on international legitimacy, without slipping into a direct threat rhetoric. This firm language is only mastered by countries that speak in the logic of law, not in the logic of emotion and reaction.
