أتفهّم جيداً، وأقدّر كثيراً غضب جماهير نادي الاتحاد، واستياءها الشديد من مجلس إدارة شركة النادي بقيادة المهندس فهد سندي. وأعلم يقيناً أن الغالبية العظمى من هذه الجماهير لا تحمل أي موقف شخصي تجاه الإدارة أو رئيسها، وإنما ينبع تذمّرها من نتائج الفريق الأول ومن مدرب «فاشل»، وعدم استعدادها بعد اليوم لتقبّل الأعذار أو المبررات لموسم يُخشى أن يخرج منه العميد خالي الوفاض.

– لست ضد الأصوات الاتحادية التي لا يعنيها سوى مصلحة الكيان؛ تلك الأصوات التي صبرت طويلاً، وكانت سنداً قوياً للإدارة، بل أسهمت في انتخاب فهد سندي رئيساً لها. ومن حقها اليوم أن تطالبه، هو وأعضاء مجلس إدارته، بالتنحي وتقديم الاستقالة في أقرب وقت، خاصة أنها وقفت صفاً واحداً في مواجهة ما يُعرف بـ«الطابور الخامس»، وكان لها الدور الأكبر في كسب تلك المعركة وإلحاق خسارة موجعة بخصومها لا يزال أثرها قائماً حتى اليوم.

– ومع ذلك، اسمحوا لي، أيها الجمهور العزيز، أن أخاطبكم بلغة «العقل» لا بلغة «العاطفة» تلك العاطفة التي أضرّت بنادي الاتحاد لعقود، حين كانت القرارات الانفعالية تُتخذ عقب كل إخفاق، فتُطالب بإقالة الرئيس وانتخاب غيره. لقد تضرر العميد كثيراً من هذا النهج، كما تأذّى من حملات إعلامية شرسة محسوبة على بعض إعلامه «المنتفع»، كان لها أثر سلبي في ابتعاد النخب من أعضاء الشرف، من رجال أعمال وشخصيات اجتماعية بارزة، كانت لها بصمات واضحة في دعم هذا الكيان.

– ولكي لا يعود الاتحاد إلى دوامة الأزمات المتكررة، وتبدّل الإدارات التي لا تستمر حتى مع النجاح، وما ينتج عن ذلك من غياب الاستقرار الإداري، وتخبطات فنية وقرارات مالية أثقلت كاهل النادي بالديون، ووصل بعضها إلى أروقة «الفيفا»، فإن على عقلاء الاتحاد الاستفادة من هذه التجارب المريرة، نحن اليوم أمام مرحلة مختلفة تماماً، تواكب عصر التحوّل إلى الشركات، وتفتح آفاقاً أوسع في ظل الخصخصة، بما يستدعي عقد جمعية عمومية طارئة وعاجلة.

ولتحقيق ذلك، أناشد رئيس النادي المهندس فهد سندي، الدعوة إلى جمعية عمومية غير عادية، يتم خلالها عرض ما قدّمته الإدارة مدعوماً بالتقارير مزوّدة بمعلومات وإحصاءات متكاملة، تم التطرق إليها بإيجاز في لقائه مع الإعلاميين خلال شهر رمضان المبارك، إضافة إلى مناقشة الرؤية المستقبلية للنادي والاستعداد المبكر لها قبل نهاية الموسم وقبل انتهاء فترة رئاسته. على أن يتم هذه المرة اختيار مجلس إدارة من أصحاب الكفاءات القيادية والإدارية، من «رجال أعمال» يمثلون جيلاً اتحادياً شاباً يمتلك الرغبة والقدرة على خدمة هذا الكيان ودعمه، وتهيئته لمرحلة ما بعد الخصخصة.

– أما المطالبة باستقالة الإدارة الحالية، فأقول: لا… وألف لا. حتى لا تعود «حليمة إلى عادتها القديمة»، ويدخل الاتحاد مجدّداً في دوامة «إدارة قادمة وأخرى مغادرة»، ورئيس يُستقبل بالترحيب، ثم لا يلبث أن يُطالب برحيله بعد موسم واحد. آن الأوان أن يتخلص نادي الاتحاد من هذا الفكر العتيق، وأن يدرك رجاله ومحبوه حجم المسؤولية الملقاة على عاتقهم في هذه المرحلة المفصلية.

– الواقع يؤكد أن أندية أخرى، لها تاريخها، بدأت تثبت أهمية حضورها وقوتها في خارطة الكرة السعودية، وأخرى ستظهر بقوة في سباق المنافسة. ولن يكون للاتحاد مكانه المستحق إلا بالعمل المؤسسي والاستقرار، لا بالارتهان للماضي أو الاكتفاء بالأهازيج التي قد تبقى في الذاكرة، لكنها لا تصنع مستقبلاً.

I fully understand and greatly appreciate the anger of the Al-Ittihad club fans and their strong dissatisfaction with the club’s board of directors led by Engineer Fahd Sindi. I am certain that the vast majority of these fans do not hold any personal grievances against the management or its president; rather, their discontent stems from the first team’s results and a “failed” coach, and their unwillingness to accept excuses or justifications for a season in which it is feared that Al-Ittihad may end up empty-handed.

– I am not against the voices of Al-Ittihad supporters who care only about the interests of the entity; those voices that have been patient for a long time, have been a strong support for the management, and even contributed to electing Fahd Sindi as its president. It is their right today to demand that he and the members of his board resign as soon as possible, especially since they stood united against what is known as the “fifth column,” and played a major role in winning that battle, inflicting a painful loss on their opponents, the effects of which are still felt today.

– However, allow me, dear audience, to address you in the language of “reason” rather than the language of “emotion,” that emotion which has harmed Al-Ittihad for decades, when impulsive decisions were made after every failure, calling for the president’s dismissal and the election of another. Al-Ittihad has suffered greatly from this approach, as it has also been affected by fierce media campaigns associated with some of its “self-serving” media, which had a negative impact on the distancing of elites from honorary members, businessmen, and prominent social figures who had clear fingerprints in supporting this entity.

– In order for Al-Ittihad not to return to the cycle of recurring crises and the changing administrations that do not last even with success, and the resulting lack of administrative stability, along with technical confusion and financial decisions that have burdened the club with debts, some of which have reached the halls of “FIFA,” the wise men of Al-Ittihad must learn from these bitter experiences. We are now in a completely different phase, coinciding with the era of transformation into companies, and opening broader horizons in light of privatization, which necessitates calling for an urgent and extraordinary general assembly.

To achieve this, I urge the club president, Engineer Fahd Sindi, to call for an extraordinary general assembly, during which the management’s contributions will be presented, supported by reports equipped with comprehensive information and statistics, briefly touched upon in his meeting with journalists during the blessed month of Ramadan, in addition to discussing the future vision for the club and early preparations for it before the end of the season and before the end of his presidency. This time, the board of directors should be chosen from individuals with leadership and administrative competencies, from “businessmen” representing a young Al-Ittihad generation that possesses the desire and ability to serve and support this entity, preparing it for the post-privatization phase.

– As for the demand for the resignation of the current management, I say: no… and a thousand no. So that “Halima does not return to her old habits,” and Al-Ittihad does not once again enter the cycle of “incoming and outgoing management,” with a president who is welcomed, only to be called for his departure after one season. It is time for Al-Ittihad to rid itself of this outdated mindset and for its men and fans to realize the magnitude of the responsibility placed upon them in this pivotal stage.

– The reality confirms that other clubs, with their history, have begun to establish their importance and strength in the Saudi football landscape, and others will emerge strongly in the competition race. Al-Ittihad will not have its rightful place except through institutional work and stability, not by being beholden to the past or content with chants that may remain in memory, but do not create a future.
