لقي 18 شخصًا على الأقل مصرعهم بعد سقوط حافلة تقل نحو 50 راكبًا في نهر بادما بوسط بنغلاديش، أثناء صعودها إلى عبارة في منطقة راجباري، على بعد 84 كم من العاصمة دكا.
وكانت الحافلة في طريقها إلى دكا قادمة من كوشتيا، حيث تمكن بعض الركاب من النجاة سباحة، فيما حوصر آخرون داخل الحافلة.
وتمكنت فرق الإنقاذ من انتشال الحافلة ومواصلة البحث، رغم صعوبة الأحوال الجوية، حيث عُثر على الجثث صباح الخميس، بينهم عشر نساء وطفلان، فيما لا يزال مصير بعض الركاب غير واضح.
At least 18 people have died after a bus carrying about 50 passengers fell into the Padma River in central Bangladesh while boarding a ferry in the Rajbari area, 84 km from the capital Dhaka.
The bus was on its way to Dhaka coming from Kushtia, where some passengers managed to swim to safety, while others were trapped inside the bus.
Rescue teams were able to retrieve the bus and continue the search, despite difficult weather conditions, with bodies found on Thursday morning, including ten women and two children, while the fate of some passengers remains unclear.
