«ما هذا الجنون الذي تفعلونه حقًا، نحن نقوم باجتماع من أجلكم، بينما أنتم تقومون بمهاجمة موقع اجتماعنا، ما الذي تفعلونه حقًا؟». هذا ما قاله وزير الخارجية التركي لنظيره الإيراني عندما اتصل به خلال الاجتماع التشاوري لوزراء خارجية عدد من الدول العربية والإسلامية مساء الأربعاء في الرياض، عندما أطلقت إيران صواريخها على الرياض بالتزامن مع توقيت الاجتماع. ما قاله الوزير التركي يصف بدقة كل ما تفعله إيران، إنه الجنون ولا شيء غيره. وقد علّق وزير الخارجية السعودي على ذلك عندما سأله أحد الصحفيين بقوله: «إن استهداف الرياض خلال وجود دبلوماسيين من دول خليجية وإسلامية لم يكن صدفة»، أي أنها تعمّدت إيصال رسالة للمجتمعين تؤكد سلوكها العدائي ضد دولهم، وتصميمها على التصعيد، ورفضها لخيار التهدئة.
وعلى أي حال فقد كان الاجتماع الذي دعت إليه المملكة خطوة مهمة وذكية في مسار توحيد المواقف تجاه الاعتداءات الإيرانية، وقد كان البيان الختامي للاجتماع جيداً ومباشراً، لكن الأهم من البيان هو المضامين التي ذكرها وزير الخارجية السعودي في المؤتمر الصحفي، والتي يمكن اعتبارها ملخصاً دقيقاً لسياسة النظام الإيراني وممارساته التي أضرت بكثير من الدول العربية والإسلامية. كانت إجابات الوزير كشفاً لكل مغالطات النظام الإيراني وتناقضاته، وقد كان سموه موفّقاً كثيراً عندما قال «التناقض هو التحدي التأريخي في العلاقات مع إيران». هذه العبارة هي التشخيص الدقيق للداء العضال في فكر وعقيدة وسلوك النظام الإيراني، الذي دمّر مقدّرات شعبه، وأفقده ثقة العالم به.
وبالعودة إلى اللقاء التشاوري الذي يعتبر تحوّلاً إستراتيجياً في التعامل مع إيران، نجد أن الرسائل التي تضمّنها بيانه، وحملتها تصريحات وزير الخارجية، كانت حازمة تماماً وشديدة الوضوح، ومن أبرزها التأكيد على أنه:
«إذا اعتقدت إيران أن دول الخليج غير قادرة على الرد فحساباتها خاطئة»، وأيضاً التشديد بأننا «لن نتوانى لحماية وطننا ومواردنا سواءً سياسياً أو عسكرياً»، وربما هي المرة الأولى منذ بدء الحرب يتم تحذير إيران بهذه الصيغة القوية المباشرة بعد تماديها في عدوانها الذي تحاول عبثاً تبريره بادعاءات كاذبة.
الدول مسؤولة عن أمنها وحماية شعوبها وصون مقدّراتها وعدم انتهاك سيادتها، ربما تتحمّل كثيراً ويطول صبرها وهي تحاول تفادي خيارات لا تريدها، لكنها لا تتردد في اتخاذها عندما تستنفد كل الوسائل الأخرى. ومع كل ذلك نأمل أن تفهم إيران الرسالة الأخيرة جيداً وتستوعب جديتها، وفي نفس الوقت على المجتمع الدولي المسارعة في تفعيل قرار مجلس الأمن رقم 2817 الذي طالب إيران بوقف هجماتها فوراً والامتناع عن تهديد الدول المجاورة، والذي حظي بدعم 136 دولة عضو في الأمم المتحدة، فالوضع لا يحتمل التسويف؛ لأن المنطقة باتجاه خطر غير مسبوق إذا لم يتم تداركه.
“What is this madness you are really doing? We are holding a meeting for you, while you are attacking the site of our meeting. What are you really doing?” This is what the Turkish Foreign Minister said to his Iranian counterpart when he called him during the consultative meeting of foreign ministers from several Arab and Islamic countries on Wednesday evening in Riyadh, when Iran launched its missiles at Riyadh coinciding with the timing of the meeting. What the Turkish minister said accurately describes everything Iran is doing; it is madness and nothing else. The Saudi Foreign Minister commented on this when a journalist asked him, saying: “Targeting Riyadh during the presence of diplomats from Gulf and Islamic countries was not a coincidence,” meaning that it deliberately aimed to send a message to the attendees confirming its hostile behavior against their countries, its determination to escalate, and its rejection of the option for de-escalation.
In any case, the meeting called by the Kingdom was an important and smart step towards unifying positions regarding Iranian aggressions. The final statement of the meeting was good and direct, but more important than the statement were the contents mentioned by the Saudi Foreign Minister in the press conference, which can be considered an accurate summary of the Iranian regime’s policy and practices that have harmed many Arab and Islamic countries. The minister’s responses revealed all the fallacies and contradictions of the Iranian regime, and he was very successful when he said, “The contradiction is the historical challenge in relations with Iran.” This phrase is the precise diagnosis of the chronic ailment in the thought, doctrine, and behavior of the Iranian regime, which has destroyed the capabilities of its people and lost their trust in the world.
Returning to the consultative meeting, which is considered a strategic shift in dealing with Iran, we find that the messages contained in its statement, and carried by the Foreign Minister’s remarks, were completely firm and very clear, the most prominent of which is the emphasis that:
“If Iran believes that the Gulf states are unable to respond, then its calculations are wrong,” and also stressing that “we will not hesitate to protect our homeland and our resources, whether politically or militarily.” Perhaps this is the first time since the start of the war that Iran has been warned in such a strong and direct manner after its continued aggression, which it is trying in vain to justify with false claims.
Countries are responsible for their own security, protecting their people, safeguarding their resources, and not violating their sovereignty. They may endure a lot and their patience may be long as they try to avoid unwanted options, but they do not hesitate to take them when all other means are exhausted. With all that, we hope that Iran understands the last message well and comprehends its seriousness. At the same time, the international community must hasten to activate Security Council Resolution 2817, which called on Iran to immediately stop its attacks and refrain from threatening neighboring countries, and which received the support of 136 member states of the United Nations. The situation cannot tolerate procrastination; the region is heading towards unprecedented danger if it is not addressed.
