الوضع على الجانب الآخر من المحيط الأطلسي، في واشنطن العاصمة، ليس أقل توتراً مما يحدث في منطقتنا مع بداية اليوم الخامس من الهجمات الإسرائيلية الأمريكية المشتركة على إيران. في واشنطن جدل كبير حول دواعي الحرب ومسارها ومدتها، ازداد الجدل واتسعت مساحته بعد تصريحات وزير الخارجية ووزير الحرب، التي لم تكن مقنعة ومتماسكة لتبريرها، لا سيما وزير الخارجية الذي أقرّ بأنها حرب أمريكية استباقية، لأن إسرائيل عزمت على الحرب وكان على أمريكا المشاركة لتقليل الضرر عليها من ردود الأفعال. الرئيس ترمب قال مسبقاً إنها ستستغرق حدود 4 أسابيع، ويقول الآن إنها قد تكون أقصر. كثير من وسائل الإعلام الأمريكية وجّهت انتقادات شديدة للرئيس ترمب بأنه لم يفكر بالحرب كرئيس دولة بحجم وقوة أمريكا التي يفاخر بها بأنها الأقوى. هذا الوضع السياسي سوف يزداد في التأزم خلال الأيام القادمة في مواجهة المشرّعين لأن لا أحد يعرف ملامح السيناريو الذي يشتد صخباً على مدار الساعة.
في الجانب الآخر من العالم، ما زالت إيران ترسل مسيّراتها وصواريخها على العواصم الخليجية، ولبنان. موجات متقطعة وكثيفة تستهدف مدن الخليج الرئيسية، وفي تصعيد خاص استهدفت إيران في الساعات الأولى من صباح الثلاثاء مقر السفارة الأمريكية في الرياض بمسيّرتين أسفرتا عن أضرار مادية محدودة، وبعدها تم اعتراض عشرات المسيّرات في أنحاء متفرقة بدون أضرار بالقرب من الرياض والخرج ورأس تنورة. وإلى كتابة هذا المقال صباح أمس وصفارات الإنذار تعلو أصواتها في معظم العواصم الخليجية.
الوضع في أقصى درجات التأزم، إسرائيل هي العقل التخطيطي والتنفيذي للعمليات الهجومية على إيران تحت المظلة الأمريكية وعتادها العسكري الجبار. نتنياهو خاطب الشعب الأمريكي عبر «فوكس نيوز» بأسلوب يوحي بأنه لا يقل أهمية واهتماماً بالشعب الأمريكي عن ترمب، كما أنه أضاف كمية من المبررات للحرب بطريقته الخاصة، ومع كل هذا الزخم لا زالت الأهداف الرئيسية للحرب ملتبسة. استبدال النظام، إصابته بالعجز التام، تدمير كل القدرة النووية، تدمير الصواريخ الباليستية ومصانعها، أم ماذا؟
إنها من الحروب النادرة التي تتطلب حشداً غير مسبوق في الحروب الحديثة، بينما هدفها الأساسي لا يزال غير واضح.
أمريكا بدأت سحب رعاياها من المنطقة مساء الإثنين لتخفيف الضغط الشعبي وعدم التورط في خسائر بشرية، ومع ذلك ما زالت موجات الهجوم الإيرانية على العواصم الخليجية مستمرة. أضرار الهجمات على العواصم الخليجية ما زالت محدودة جداً، وتم اعتراض أكثر الأجسام المهاجمة وتحييد خطرها بفاعلية وسائل الدفاع المتقدمة، ولكن ما زلنا نقول إن على إيران أن تعي جيداً بأن هذا السلوك خطير جداً على مآلات الأوضاع الراهنة، وقد يدفع بها إلى ما هو ليس في صالح الخليج ولا إيران ولا المنطقة بأكملها. على إيران عدم خلط الأوراق بهجماتها اللا مسؤولة، والاحتفاظ بالتقدير للدول التي حاولت صدقاً عدم حدوث هذا السيناريو، وهي دول جوار بينها مشتركات مهمة ولا يمكنها الاستغناء عنها مهما كانت الظروف، وفي أي وقت. لا تدفعوا من كانوا حريصين على شعبكم وما زالوا على نفض أيديهم منكم نهائياً.
The situation on the other side of the Atlantic, in Washington D.C., is no less tense than what is happening in our region with the onset of the fifth day of the joint Israeli-American attacks on Iran. In Washington, there is a significant debate about the reasons for the war, its course, and its duration. This debate has intensified and expanded after the statements of the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense, which were neither convincing nor coherent enough to justify it, especially the Secretary of State who admitted that it is a preemptive American war, because Israel was determined to go to war and America had to participate to mitigate the damage from the reactions. President Trump previously stated that it would last about four weeks, and he now says it could be shorter. Many American media outlets have severely criticized President Trump for not considering the war as a head of state of a country as large and powerful as America, which he boasts is the strongest. This political situation will become more strained in the coming days in the face of legislators, as no one knows the outlines of the scenario that is becoming increasingly loud by the hour.
On the other side of the world, Iran continues to send its drones and missiles towards the Gulf capitals and Lebanon. Intermittent and dense waves are targeting major Gulf cities, and in a specific escalation, Iran targeted the U.S. embassy in Riyadh in the early hours of Tuesday with two drones, resulting in limited material damage. After that, dozens of drones were intercepted in various areas without causing damage near Riyadh, Al-Kharj, and Ras Tanura. As of writing this article yesterday morning, alarm sirens are sounding in most Gulf capitals.
The situation is at its most critical point; Israel is the planning and executing mind behind the offensive operations on Iran under the American umbrella and its formidable military equipment. Netanyahu addressed the American people via “Fox News” in a manner suggesting that he cares about the American people no less than Trump does. He also added a number of justifications for the war in his own way, and despite all this momentum, the main objectives of the war remain ambiguous. Regime change, rendering it completely incapacitated, destroying all nuclear capability, destroying ballistic missiles and their factories, or what?
It is one of the rare wars that requires an unprecedented mobilization in modern warfare, while its primary goal remains unclear.
America began withdrawing its citizens from the region on Monday evening to alleviate public pressure and avoid human losses; however, Iranian attacks on the Gulf capitals continue. The damage from the attacks on the Gulf capitals remains very limited, and most of the attacking objects have been intercepted and their threat effectively neutralized by advanced defense systems. However, we still say that Iran must fully realize that this behavior is very dangerous for the current situation and could lead to outcomes that are not in the interest of the Gulf, Iran, or the entire region. Iran should not mix the cards with its irresponsible attacks and should maintain appreciation for the countries that have sincerely tried to prevent this scenario from occurring, which are neighboring countries with important commonalities that they cannot do without, regardless of the circumstances and at any time. Do not push those who care about your people and still do to wash their hands of you completely.
