ما زلت في دهشة كلما ارتهنت إلى المقاييس الزمنية السابقة لقياس المتغيّرات، لكن غدا واضحاً، لم يعد هناك ثبات اللحظة، ففي كل ثانية ينقلب العالم رأساً على عقب، فالمتغيّرات تتسابق، والقياس مختل إن ارتهنت على قياسك القديم. نعم سبق أن كتبت مقالاً بعنوان (الحركة هناك)، مشيراً إلى أننا نعيش في زمن فائق السرعة حتى أن المقاييس القديمة للحكم على السرعة أو البطء للمجتمعات لم تعد قادرة على القياس، ومع ذلك ما زالت الحركة هي سيدة القياس.
فالحركة من أهم مقوّمات الحياة، فالمجتمعات تشكّل تنوعاً بشرياً يخضع لتلك الحركية، فالمجتمعات الثابتة لا يمكن لها التناغم مع المعطيات المستحدثة، كون الثبات هو السكون، وفي تلك الحركة الدائبة لا يمكن لأي جزء من أجزائها أن يكون ثابتاً متخلفاً عن الحركة العامة، فكل مكوّنات تلك المجتمعات تكتسب حركية الحياة ذاتها بحيث تتناغم مع السرعة الواجب إحداثها تشكّلاً مع المتغيّرات الدافعة للسير للأمام، وأي تلكؤ -لأي مجتمع- أو تقاعس يؤثر تأثيراً سلبياً في وجوده بين المجتمعات المتحركة.
طرأ في البال جدلية الثابت والمتحرك وأنا أتابع لقاءً مع مسؤول ثقافي عربي يتحدث عن الثوابت الثقافية التي تعتبر حجر الزاوية في قرارات المنشأة التي يترأسها، وأن تلك الثوابت لا مندوح عن الافتراق عنها قيد أنملة، وطال حديثه عن تلك الثوابت التي تجاوزها الزمن والواقع بمعطيات حياتية وثقافية متجدّدة تسخر من تلك الثوابت.
الزمن يغيّر ثوابته، ممكن أن تظل تلك الثوابت القديمة محفوظة في الكتب، أو في الذكريات إلا أن سرعة المتغيّر سيمحو الكثير منها؛ ولذا صدقت مقولة علي بن أبي طالب (ربوا أولادكم لزمن غير زمنكم) – المقولة ليست نصية وإنما تعني ذلك المعنى.
ومن لم يُربَّ لأزمنة لم تمر بآبائه وأجداده، سيكون الآن في تيه.
وفي اعتقادي أن حركيّة الزمن لا تبقي أي شأن من شؤون الحياة في حالة ثبات مطلقاً، فكل مكوّناتها تتحرك دفعة واحدة، فالثوابت تعني الموات لمن يتمسك بها، ومن يريد السير مع حركيّة الحياة عليه تجديد ثوابته، ففي كل فترة زمنية هناك ثابت قابل للتغيّر بما يتناسب مع حركيّة الواقع، فالمعطيات المستحدثة تغيّر أصل كل ثابت، فليس هناك ثوابت تظل جامدة لمئات أو عشرات السنوات، بل يوجد لكل منحى حركة تتلاءم مع واقعها، وهذا لا يعني الاستلاب أو الابتزاز وإنما يعني أن جوهر ما تؤمن به لديه طاقة متجدّدة قادرة على البقاء والنمو عبر كل التشكيلات الزمنية.
فالهوية الثقافية أو الدينية ما لم تكن قادرة على الانتقال عبر الزمن، ستكون في المؤخرة مهما ادعينا تناسب تلك الثوابت مع المتغيّرات المتلاحقة التي تحدثها حركية الحياة.
ومن يتابع الحركية الفائقة للمملكة يرى أنها قطعت مسافات شاسعة من النمو في جميع المجالات بعكس عمّا كانت عليه، فالقرارات السيادية التي اتخذها الأمير محمد بن سلمان أدّت إلى الانفكاك من الثبات صوب الحركة الفاعلة ذات التصاعد؛ لأن كل نجاح يؤدي إلى نجاح. ونحن- ولله الحمد- نتقدّم بالفعل الحركي الحادث، الذي يستهدف بلوغ المستقبل بأفضل النتائج.
I am still in awe every time I rely on the previous temporal measures to assess variables, but it has become clear that there is no longer any stability in the moment. With every second, the world turns upside down; the variables are racing, and the measurement is distorted if you cling to your old metrics. Yes, I previously wrote an article titled “Movement is There,” indicating that we live in a time of hyper-speed, to the extent that the old measures for judging the speed or slowness of societies are no longer capable of assessment. Nevertheless, movement remains the master of measurement.
Movement is one of the most important components of life. Societies form a human diversity that is subject to that dynamism. Static societies cannot harmonize with the new data, as stability means stillness. In this constant movement, no part of its components can remain static, lagging behind the general motion. All components of these societies acquire the dynamism of life itself, so they harmonize with the speed that must be generated in formation with the driving changes pushing forward. Any hesitation—of any society—or negligence negatively impacts its existence among moving societies.
The dialectic of the static and the dynamic came to mind as I followed an interview with an Arab cultural official discussing the cultural constants that are considered the cornerstone of the decisions of the institution he heads. He insisted that these constants cannot be deviated from even by a hair’s breadth, and he spoke at length about those constants that time and reality have surpassed with renewed life and cultural data that mock those constants.
Time changes its constants. Those old constants may remain preserved in books or in memories, but the speed of change will erase many of them; hence, the saying of Ali ibn Abi Talib is true: “Raise your children for a time other than your time”—the saying is not textual but conveys that meaning.
And whoever has not been raised for times that did not pass through their parents and ancestors will now be in confusion.
In my opinion, the dynamism of time does not leave any aspect of life in a state of absolute stability. All its components move simultaneously; constants mean stagnation for those who cling to them. Anyone who wants to move with the dynamism of life must renew their constants. In every period, there is a constant that can change in accordance with the dynamism of reality. The new data alters the essence of every constant; there are no constants that remain rigid for hundreds or tens of years. Rather, there is movement in every direction that aligns with its reality. This does not mean alienation or extortion but signifies that the essence of what you believe in has a renewable energy capable of surviving and growing through all temporal formations.
If cultural or religious identity cannot transition through time, it will be left behind, no matter how much we claim that those constants align with the successive changes brought about by the dynamism of life.
Anyone who follows the extraordinary dynamism of the Kingdom sees that it has covered vast distances of growth in all fields, unlike what it used to be. The sovereign decisions made by Prince Mohammed bin Salman have led to a break from stability towards effective, ascending movement; because every success leads to success. And we—thank God—are indeed advancing with the ongoing dynamic movement, which aims to reach the future with the best results.
