كشف نادي بنفيكا البرتغالي حقيقة اعتراف لاعبه جيانلوكا بريستياني بتوجيه إهانة عنصرية لنجم ريال مدريد فينيسيوس جونيور، خلال مباراة ذهاب الملحق المؤهل إلى دور الـ16 من بطولة دوري أبطال أوروبا.
كانت تقارير صحفية قد ذكرت اليوم (الخميس) أن بريستياني اعترف للاعبي بنفيكا بأنه وصف فينيسيوس جونيور بـ«القرد»، ومع ذلك ذكر اللاعب الأرجنتيني عدة حجج ليؤكد أنه ليس عنصرياً وأنه لم يقصد ذلك.

وسرعان ما نفى بنفيكا هذه الادعاءات، إذ جاء في بيان رسمي للنادي: «ينفي نادي بنفيكا بشكل قاطع أن يكون اللاعب بريستياني قد أبلغ الفريق أو إدارة النادي بأنه وجّه إهانة عنصرية ضد لاعب ريال مدريد فينيسيوس جونيور».
وأضاف البيان: «كما أُعلن سابقاً، اعتذر اللاعب لزملائه في الفريق عن الحادثة التي وقعت خلال المباراة ضد ريال مدريد، معرباً عن أسفه لحجمها وعواقبها، ومؤكداً للجميع أنه ليس عنصرياً».
قرار «يويفا»
يُذكر أن الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم (يويفا) قرر إيقاف بريستياني مباراة واحدة، على خلفية الاشتباه في توجيهه إهانة ذات طابع عنصري إلى فينيسيوس جونيور، وذلك إلى حين استكمال التحقيقات الجارية في القضية.
The Portuguese club Benfica has revealed the truth about its player Gianluca Prestianni’s alleged racist insult towards Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior during the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 qualifying match.
Reports had mentioned today (Thursday) that Prestianni admitted to Benfica players that he referred to Vinicius Junior as a “monkey,” however, the Argentine player presented several arguments to assert that he is not racist and did not intend that.
Benfica’s Statement
Benfica quickly denied these allegations, stating in an official club statement: “Benfica categorically denies that player Prestianni informed the team or the club’s management that he directed a racist insult against Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior.”
The statement added: “As previously announced, the player apologized to his teammates for the incident that occurred during the match against Real Madrid, expressing regret for its magnitude and consequences, and assuring everyone that he is not racist.”
UEFA’s Decision
It is worth noting that the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend Prestianni for one match, pending investigations into the case regarding his alleged racist insult towards Vinicius Junior.
