أوضح النائب السابق لرئيس غرفة فض المنازعات في اتحاد كرة القدم وليد معاذ، أن الوسط الرياضي يحتاج إلى النزاهة، والخبرة القانونية، والفهم الرياضي، واختيار أعضاء اللجان القضائية، مشدداً على أننا نحتاج لنشر الثقافة القانونية، حتى لا يكون هناك عدم رضى على قرارات اللجان القضائية. جاء ذلك خلال حديثه لبرنامج داخل المرمى، وقال: «هناك قصور في تجربة الجمهور في الدوري السعودي.. واختيار الحكام الأجانب يمكن تحسينه». وأضاف: «توجد جودة منافسة في الدوري السعودي.. ولا يعجبني مستوى التحكيم ولكن ليس سيئاً بشكل فج»،كاشفاً عن أنه أزال صورة ماجد النفيعي، قال:« النفيعي أوقف متابعته لأخبار النادي وعلى ضوء ذلك تم إزالت صورته».
وحول قضية اللاعب محمد كنو، قال: «قضية محمد كنو والهلال والنصر لم تكن صعبة، بل كانت أكثر إثارة، ولم نتأخر فيها، ولم نتعرض لضغوط أو توجيه لأخذ قرار قانوني.. كنا نتلقى استفسارات عن موعد إعلان القرار فقط».
وحول عمل عدد من الأعضاء في أكثر من جهة، قال: «إذا كنت مثلاً رئيس لجنة الانضباط ولدي شركة محاماة وهذه الشركة متعاقدة مع شركة تتبع لرئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم أو السلة، فهل هذا تضارب مصالح؟».

He emphasized that we need to promote legal culture so that there is no dissatisfaction with the decisions of the judicial committees. This came during his talk on the program “Inside the Goal,” where he said: “There is a shortcoming in the audience’s experience in the Saudi league… and the selection of foreign referees can be improved.” He added: “There is competitive quality in the Saudi league… I am not pleased with the level of refereeing, but it is not bad in a blatant way,” revealing that he removed a picture of Majid Al-Nafai, saying: “Al-Nafai stopped following the club’s news, and based on that, his picture was removed.”
Regarding the case of player Mohammed Kanno, he said: “The case of Mohammed Kanno, Al-Hilal, and Al-Nasr was not difficult; rather, it was more exciting. We did not delay in it, nor were we subjected to pressure or direction to make a legal decision… We only received inquiries about the timing of the announcement of the decision.”
Regarding the work of several members in more than one entity, he said: “If I am, for example, the head of the Disciplinary Committee and I have a law firm, and this firm is contracted with a company affiliated with the president of the Saudi Football Association or basketball, is this a conflict of interest?”
