أعلن المتحدث الرسمي باسم وزارة الدفاع السعودية تعرّض السفارة الأمريكية في الرياض لهجوم بطائرتين مسيّرتين.
وقال : “تعرّضت السفارة الأمريكية في الرياض لهجوم بمسيّرتين بحسب التقديرات الأولية، ونتج عن ذلك حريق محدود وأضرار مادية بسيطة في المبنى”.
انزلاق خطير
وجاء الحادث في ظل تصعيد إقليمي متسارع، وسط تأكيد سعودي أن الاعتداءات الأخيرة تعكس عدم تقدير إيران للمواقف التي عبّرت عنها المملكة،، معتبرة أن ما جرى يمثل انزلاقاً خطيراً لمحاولة إقحام دول المنطقة في الصراع القائم بين طهران من جهة، وواشنطن وتل أبيب من جهة أخرى.
تهديد لأمن واستقرار المنطقة
وفي بيان سابق شددت المملكة على أنها ستتخذ كل الإجراءات والتدابير اللازمة للدفاع عن سيادتها وأمنها الوطني، وضمان سلامة المواطنين والمقيمين، وحماية مرافقها الحيوية، مؤكدة أن اللجوء إلى هذه الإجراءات يأتي في إطار حقها المشروع في حماية أراضيها وصون استقرارها.
وأكدت أن استخدام إيران لقدراتها العسكرية في استهداف دول جارة يمثل تطوراً خطيراً يهدد أمن المنطقة واستقرارها، لا سيما في ظل التصعيد القائم، مجددة دعوتها إلى تجنيب المنطقة مزيداً من التوتر، والاحتكام إلى الحلول التي تحفظ الأمن والسلم الإقليميين
The official spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that the American embassy in Riyadh was attacked by two drones.
He said: “The American embassy in Riyadh was attacked by drones according to initial estimates, resulting in a limited fire and minor material damage to the building.”
Dangerous Slippage
The incident came amid a rapidly escalating regional situation, with Saudi confirmation that the recent attacks reflect Iran’s lack of appreciation for the positions expressed by the Kingdom, considering that what occurred represents a dangerous slippage in attempting to involve the countries of the region in the ongoing conflict between Tehran on one side, and Washington and Tel Aviv on the other.
Threat to the Security and Stability of the Region
In a previous statement, the Kingdom emphasized that it will take all necessary measures and actions to defend its sovereignty and national security, ensure the safety of citizens and residents, and protect its vital facilities, affirming that resorting to these measures comes within its legitimate right to protect its territories and preserve its stability.
It reiterated that Iran’s use of its military capabilities to target neighboring countries represents a serious development that threatens the security and stability of the region, especially in light of the ongoing escalation, renewing its call to spare the region further tension and to resort to solutions that preserve regional security and peace.
