أعلن المتحدث الرسمي لوزارة الدفاع اللواء الركن تركي المالكي، اعتراض وتدمير 8 مسيّرات معادية في محيط مدينتَي الرياض والخرج، ضمن محاولات استهداف متفرقة جرى التعامل معها بكفاءة وجاهزية عالية.
وفي وقت سابق، أوضح المالكي أن قوات الدفاع الجوي تمكنت، الإثنين، من اعتراض وتدمير 5 مسيّرات بالقرب من قاعدة الأمير سلطان الجوية، مؤكداً أن عملية التصدي تمت وفق الإجراءات العملياتية المعتمدة، ودون تسجيل خسائر بشرية.
محاولة استهداف منشآت حيوية
وفي سياق متصل، أشار المالكي إلى اعتراض وتدمير مسيّرتين حاولتا مهاجمة مصفاة رأس تنورة صباح الإثنين، في محاولة لاستهداف منشأة حيوية، مؤكداً أن الأنظمة الدفاعية تعاملت مع التهديد بكفاءة وأحبطت الهجوم قبل تحقيق أهدافه.
استهداف السفارة الأمريكية
كما كشف عن تعرّض السفارة الأمريكية في الرياض لهجوم بمسيّرتين، وفق التقديرات الأولية، ما أسفر عن حريق محدود وأضرار مادية بسيطة في المبنى، دون الإشارة إلى وقوع إصابات.
ترمب يتوعد برد قريب
من جانبه، توعّد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب إيران، مؤكداً في تصريح لشبكة “نيوز نيشن” أن الرد على الهجوم الذي استهدف السفارة الأمريكية في الرياض، وعلى مقتل جنود أمريكيين خلال الصراع مع إيران، «سيُعرف قريباً»، في إشارة إلى إجراءات مرتقبة قد تتخذها واشنطن.
وتأتي هذه التطورات في ظل تصاعد التوترات الإقليمية، وسط تأكيدات رسمية باستمرار الجاهزية للتعامل مع أي تهديدات تمس أمن المملكة وسلامة منشآتها الحيوية
The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced the interception and destruction of 8 hostile drones in the vicinity of Riyadh and Al-Kharj, as part of scattered targeting attempts that were dealt with efficiently and with high readiness.
Earlier, Al-Maliki clarified that the air defense forces managed, on Monday, to intercept and destroy 5 drones near Prince Sultan Air Base, confirming that the countermeasure was carried out according to the approved operational procedures, with no human losses recorded.
Attempt to Target Vital Facilities
In a related context, Al-Maliki pointed out the interception and destruction of two drones that attempted to attack the Ras Tanura refinery on Monday morning, in an attempt to target a vital facility, confirming that the defense systems dealt with the threat efficiently and thwarted the attack before it could achieve its objectives.
Targeting the American Embassy
He also revealed that the American embassy in Riyadh was attacked by two drones, according to initial estimates, resulting in a limited fire and minor material damage to the building, without indicating any injuries.
Trump Promises a Swift Response
For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Iran, stating in a statement to “News Nation” that the response to the attack on the American embassy in Riyadh, and to the killing of American soldiers during the conflict with Iran, “will be known soon,” indicating potential measures that Washington may take.
These developments come amid rising regional tensions, with official assurances of continued readiness to deal with any threats to the security of the Kingdom and the safety of its vital facilities.
