أكد رئيس الجمعية الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان، خالد بن عبدالرحمن الفاخري، أن التطورات التشريعية والمؤسسية التي شهدتها المملكة خلال السنوات الأخيرة أسهمت بشكل ملموس في تعزيز حماية حقوق المرأة وتوسيع مشاركتها في مختلف المجالات، ضمن مسار مستمر لتطوير منظومة حقوق الإنسان وتعزيز الضمانات النظامية المرتبطة بها.
وأوضح الفاخري، في تصريح بمناسبة اليوم الدولي للمرأة الذي يوافق الثامن من مارس، أن ما تحقق من تحديثات تشريعية وبرامج وطنية ومبادرات مؤسسية يعكس اهتماماً متزايداً بترسيخ مبادئ العدالة وتكافؤ الفرص، ودعم مشاركة المرأة في مسارات التنمية، وتعزيز حضورها في مختلف القطاعات.
وأشار إلى أن الاهتمام الدولي بقضايا المرأة يشكل فرصة لتأكيد أهمية مواصلة الجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز الحقوق وترسيخ العدالة، وتفعيل المبادئ المرتبطة بحماية المرأة وتمكينها على أرض الواقع.
تعزيز حقوق الإنسان
وبيّن أن الجمعية الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان، بصفتها مؤسسة وطنية مستقلة تُعنى بحماية وتعزيز حقوق الإنسان، تتابع باهتمام التطورات المتعلقة بحقوق المرأة، وتعمل على نشر الوعي بالحقوق ودعم المبادرات التي تسهم في تمكين المرأة وتعزيز مشاركتها في المجتمع، انطلاقاً من دورها في رصد واقع حقوق الإنسان والإسهام في تطوير الممارسات المرتبطة به.
وشدد الفاخري على أن تعزيز حقوق المرأة مسؤولية مشتركة تتكامل فيها جهود المؤسسات الحكومية ومؤسسات المجتمع المدني، بما يسهم في ترسيخ العدالة وصون الكرامة الإنسانية ودعم مسارات التنمية.
واختتم بالتأكيد على أن الجمعية ستواصل دورها في متابعة ما يتعلق بحقوق المرأة، ورصد التحديات التي تواجهها، وتعزيز الوعي بالحقوق، والعمل على دعم تطوير السياسات والممارسات التي تعزز حمايتها وتمكينها، بما ينسجم مع التزامات المملكة في مجال حقوق الإنسان.
The President of the National Human Rights Association, Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Fakhri, confirmed that the legislative and institutional developments witnessed by the Kingdom in recent years have significantly contributed to enhancing the protection of women’s rights and expanding their participation in various fields, as part of a continuous path to develop the human rights system and strengthen the associated legal guarantees.
Al-Fakhri explained, in a statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which falls on the eighth of March, that the legislative updates, national programs, and institutional initiatives achieved reflect an increasing interest in entrenching the principles of justice and equal opportunities, supporting women’s participation in development pathways, and enhancing their presence in various sectors.
He pointed out that international attention to women’s issues represents an opportunity to emphasize the importance of continuing efforts aimed at enhancing rights and establishing justice, and activating the principles related to the protection and empowerment of women in reality.
Enhancing Human Rights
He indicated that the National Human Rights Association, as an independent national institution concerned with the protection and promotion of human rights, closely follows developments related to women’s rights, and works to raise awareness of rights and support initiatives that contribute to empowering women and enhancing their participation in society, based on its role in monitoring the reality of human rights and contributing to the development of related practices.
Al-Fakhri emphasized that enhancing women’s rights is a shared responsibility that integrates the efforts of government institutions and civil society organizations, contributing to the establishment of justice, safeguarding human dignity, and supporting development pathways.
He concluded by affirming that the association will continue its role in monitoring women’s rights, identifying the challenges they face, raising awareness of rights, and working to support the development of policies and practices that enhance their protection and empowerment, in line with the Kingdom’s commitments in the field of human rights.
