أوضح وزير الثقافة الأمير بدر بن عبدالله بن فرحان، أن تأسيس المعهد الملكي للأنثروبولوجيا والدراسات الثقافية الذي أقرّه مجلس الوزراء أمس، يأتي ليكون راويًا موثوقًا للثقافة السعودية ومنارةً للإلهام في فهم الإنسان. وأكد أن إنشاء المعهد يمثّل خطوة محورية في مسيرة تطوير القطاع الثقافي، بوصفه منصة علمية وطنية تُعنى بتوثيق التراث وتعميق الوعي بالثقافة السعودية عبر الأبحاث الأنثروبولوجية والدراسات الثقافية، إضافة إلى تعزيز التبادل الثقافي وإثراء المعرفة عالميًا، وتقديم رؤى ثقافية مؤثرة وفاعلة.
وسيعمل المعهد على تطوير بحوث أكاديمية وتطبيقية متخصصة تشمل دراسة المجتمعات المحلية، وأنماط العيش، والنظم الرمزية، والتحوّلات الاجتماعية، وأشكال التعبير الثقافي في المملكة. كما سيهتم بتوثيق التراث المادي وغير المادي في سياقاته الاجتماعية والتاريخية، ورصد المعارف والممارسات والقيم المرتبطة به، بما يضمن تقديم فهم علمي متكامل للعناصر الثقافية بوصفها جزءًا من التجربة الإنسانية الحيّة.
ورفع وزير الثقافة، أسمى آيات الشكر والعرفان لخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، ولولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان، على دعمهما الدائم وغير المحدود للقطاع الثقافي والمثقفين.
وتحظى المملكة بأهمية خاصة في مجال الدراسات الأنثروبولوجية والثقافية لما تمتلكه من عمق تاريخي وحضاري ممتد عبر القرون، إضافة إلى تنوعها الثقافي والاجتماعي والمناطقي الذي يتجلى في أنماط الحياة والعادات والتقاليد واللغة والتعبير الشفهي، فضلًا عن حضورها في الآداب والفنون والعمارة والفنون البصرية والطهي والأزياء وغيرها من الممارسات الثقافية التي تشكّل مادة ثرية للبحث والتحليل والتوثيق.
The Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, clarified that the establishment of the Royal Institute for Anthropology and Cultural Studies, which was approved by the Council of Ministers yesterday, aims to be a reliable narrator of Saudi culture and a beacon of inspiration in understanding humanity. He emphasized that the creation of the institute represents a pivotal step in the journey of developing the cultural sector, as it serves as a national scientific platform dedicated to documenting heritage and deepening awareness of Saudi culture through anthropological research and cultural studies, in addition to enhancing cultural exchange and enriching global knowledge, and providing impactful and effective cultural insights.
The institute will work on developing specialized academic and applied research that includes the study of local communities, ways of life, symbolic systems, social transformations, and forms of cultural expression in the Kingdom. It will also focus on documenting both tangible and intangible heritage in its social and historical contexts, monitoring the knowledge, practices, and values associated with it, ensuring a comprehensive scientific understanding of cultural elements as part of the living human experience.
The Minister of Culture expressed his highest gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for their continuous and unlimited support for the cultural sector and intellectuals.
The Kingdom holds special significance in the field of anthropological and cultural studies due to its deep historical and civilizational roots that extend over the centuries, in addition to its cultural, social, and regional diversity that is reflected in ways of life, customs, traditions, language, and oral expression, as well as its presence in literature, arts, architecture, visual arts, cuisine, fashion, and other cultural practices that form a rich material for research, analysis, and documentation.
