أعلنت اللجنة المنظمة لبطولة كأس الخليج لكرة القدم المصغرة تأجيل إقامة النسخة الأولى من البطولة التي كان من المقرر أن تستضيفها العاصمة القطرية الدوحة خلال الفترة من 1 إلى 5 أبريل المقبل، وذلك بسبب الأوضاع الراهنة في المنطقة.
وأوضحت أن قرار التأجيل يأتي بعد إعلانها في وقت سابق تأجيل حفل قرعة البطولة، في إطار حرصها على توفير الظروف المناسبة لإقامة الحدث بصورة تليق بالبطولة ومكانتها، وضمان أفضل الجوانب التنظيمية والإعلامية للمشاركين والجماهير.
وأكد مدير عام اللجنة المنظمة للبطولة محمد مبارك المهندي، أن القرار يأتي كإجراء احترازي في ظل المستجدات الحالية، مشيرًا إلى أن سلامة الوفود المشاركة وتهيئة الأجواء المناسبة لإقامة البطولة تبقى في مقدمة أولويات اللجنة المنظمة.
وأفاد أن اللجنة المنظمة ستعمل بالتنسيق مع الجهات المعنية والاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم المصغرة (IMF) من أجل تحديد موعد جديد لإقامة البطولة، على أن يتم الإعلان عنه في وقت لاحق بعد استقرار الأوضاع.
وكان من المنتظر أن تشهد النسخة الأولى من البطولة مشاركة منتخبات دول الخليج العربي، في حدث رياضي يهدف إلى تعزيز التعاون الرياضي بين دول الخليج ودعم انتشار كرة القدم المصغرة على المستوى الإقليمي.
The organizing committee for the Gulf Mini Football Cup announced the postponement of the first edition of the tournament, which was scheduled to be hosted in the Qatari capital, Doha, from April 1 to 5, due to the current situation in the region.
It clarified that the decision to postpone comes after its earlier announcement to delay the tournament’s draw ceremony, as part of its commitment to providing suitable conditions for holding the event in a manner befitting the tournament and its stature, and ensuring the best organizational and media aspects for participants and fans.
Mohammed Mubarak Al-Mahmoud, the General Director of the organizing committee, confirmed that the decision is a precautionary measure in light of the current developments, noting that the safety of the participating delegations and preparing suitable conditions for holding the tournament remain the top priorities of the organizing committee.
He stated that the organizing committee will work in coordination with the relevant authorities and the International Mini Football Federation (IMF) to determine a new date for the tournament, which will be announced later after the situation stabilizes.
The first edition of the tournament was expected to witness the participation of the Gulf Arab national teams, in a sporting event aimed at enhancing sports cooperation among Gulf countries and supporting the spread of mini football at the regional level.
