أعلن نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جي دي فانس اليوم (الأربعاء)، أن أمام الإدارة الأمريكية طريق صعب خلال الأسابيع القادمة لكن ذلك سيكون مؤقتاً، مؤكدة اتخاذ إجراءات لحماية الاقتصاد.

وأضاف أن ارتفاع أسعار الطاقة بسبب الوضع في الشرق الأوسط سيكون مؤقتاً، موضحاً بأنهم اتخذوا إجراءات لحماية اقتصادهم ولهذا تعاني دول أخرى أكثر من الولايات المتحدة.
وأشار إلى أنه سيعلن عن بعض الأمور تتعلق بأسعار الغاز خلال 24 إلى 48 ساعة.
في والوقت ذاته، توعد المرشد الإيراني الجديد مجتبى خامنئي، من قتل أمين عام مجلس الأمن القومي الإيراني علي لاريجاني، بـ«دفع الثمن»، جاء ذلك فيما أقر الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بزشكيان، بمقتل وزير الاستخبارات الإيراني، إسماعيل خطيب، موضحاً أن خطيب وعلي لاريجاني وعزيز ناصر زادة قُتلوا جراء في عمل إرهابي استهدفهم.
في غضون ذلك، قال مسؤول أمريكي إن حاملة الطائرات «جيرالد فورد»، ستنسحب مؤقتاً من العمليات في الشرق الأوسط، وتتجه إلى قاعدة بحرية في اليونان لإجراء إصلاحات.
ونقلت صحيفة «وول ستريت جورنال» عن مسؤول أمريكي قوله: «حاملة الطائرات ستبقى في الميناء لفترة وجيزة»، موضحاً أن «مجموعتها الضاربة لن ترافقها».
وتعرّضت «فورد» لحريق غير مرتبط بالقتال أثناء تنفيذ عمليات في البحر الأحمر الأسبوع الماضي.
