استدعت وزارة الخارجية البريطانية السفير الإيراني لدى لندن سيد علي موسوي إلى مقرها اليوم (الإثنين)، في خطوة دبلوماسية حادة تأتي عقب توجيه اتهامات رسمية لرجلين بالتجسس وتقديم مساعدة لجهاز الاستخبارات الإيرانية.
وأفاد متحدث باسم الخارجية البريطانية بأن الاستدعاء يأتي «رداً على توجيه اتهامات أخيراً لرجلين، أحدهما مواطن إيراني والآخر يحمل الجنسيتين البريطانية والإيرانية، بموجب قانون الأمن القومي، بشبهة تقديم مساعدة لجهاز استخبارات أجنبي»، مشيراً إلى أن هذه الأفعال تمثل «تصرفات متهورة ومزعزعة للاستقرار» داخل المملكة المتحدة وخارجها.
وأكدت الوزارة أن «حماية الأمن القومي تبقى أولوية عليا، ويجب محاسبة إيران على أفعالها»، مطالبة طهران بوقف مثل هذه الأنشطة التي تهدد الأمن البريطاني.
وكان الرجلان قد مثلا أمام محكمة وستمنستر في لندن الخميس الماضي، حيث وجهت لهما تهم جمع معلومات وإجراء استطلاع ومراقبة معادية لأهداف يهودية في بريطانيا، بما في ذلك السفارة الإسرائيلية وأقدم كنيس يهودي في لندن، وغيرها من المواقع اليهودية، بناءً على تعليمات من خدمات استخبارات إيرانية خلال فترة 5 أسابيع الصيف الماضي (يوليو-أغسطس 2025).
وأُلقي القبض عليهما في 6 مارس، ويواجهان اتهامات بمخالفة قانون الأمن القومي 2023، بما في ذلك التواصل المحتمل لمساعدة جهاز استخبارات أجنبي والقيام بأعمال استطلاع مع نية ارتكاب أو دعم عنف خطير.
يأتي هذا الاستدعاء في سياق توترات دبلوماسية متصاعدة بين بريطانيا وإيران، خصوصاً مع اندلاع الحرب الأمريكية – الإسرائيلية على إيران أواخر فبراير، التي شملت ضربات جوية واسعة على أهداف إيرانية.
في الوقت نفسه، شهدت بريطانيا سلسلة من الحوادث المرتبطة بإيران، بما في ذلك محاولات تجسس سابقة على صحفيين معارضين مثل قناة إيران إنترناشونال في 2025، واعتقال إيرانيين آخرين في قضايا أمنية مشابهة.
The British Foreign Office summoned the Iranian ambassador to London, Seyed Ali Mousavi, to its headquarters today (Monday), in a sharp diplomatic move following official accusations against two men for espionage and providing assistance to the Iranian intelligence service.
A spokesperson for the British Foreign Office stated that the summons comes “in response to recent accusations against two men, one of whom is an Iranian citizen and the other holds both British and Iranian citizenship, under the National Security Act, on suspicion of providing assistance to a foreign intelligence service,” noting that these actions represent “reckless and destabilizing behavior” both within the United Kingdom and abroad.
The ministry emphasized that “protecting national security remains a top priority, and Iran must be held accountable for its actions,” demanding that Tehran cease such activities that threaten British security.
The two men appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London last Thursday, where they were charged with gathering information and conducting surveillance against Jewish targets in Britain, including the Israeli embassy and the oldest synagogue in London, among other Jewish sites, based on instructions from Iranian intelligence services over a period of 5 weeks last summer (July-August 2025).
They were arrested on March 6 and face charges of violating the National Security Act 2023, including potentially communicating to assist a foreign intelligence service and conducting reconnaissance with the intent to commit or support serious violence.
This summons comes amid escalating diplomatic tensions between Britain and Iran, especially following the outbreak of the American-Israeli war against Iran in late February, which included extensive airstrikes on Iranian targets.
At the same time, Britain has witnessed a series of incidents related to Iran, including previous espionage attempts against opposition journalists such as Iran International in 2025, and the arrest of other Iranians in similar security cases.
