تصاعد مؤشر تسمية فعاليات ثقافية وفنيّة، بأسماء أدباء ومثقفين راحلين، وأُطلقت الأسماء الخالدة على مواسم معارض الكتب؛ ما يفتح باب التساؤل على مصرعيه: هل إطلاق اسم أديب على فعالية أو مناسبة ثقافية ضرورة أم ترف؟ عرفان متأخر أم امتنان في وقته؟ أم اعتذار عن تقصير في حقه، أم استثمار تسويقي بحكم أن بعض الأسماء جاذبة، ويحمل لهم القراء كبير تقدير؟. وجرى طرح السؤال على نخبة من الكتّاب؛ لاستجلاء وجهات نظرهم حول أبعاد مثل هذه المبادرات، وماذا عن تحولها إلى ظاهرة؟
ويعده الكاتب سهم بن ضاوي الدعجاني، تكريماً للمثقف والأديب من قبل المجتمع ومؤسساته العامة والخاصة، وتتويجاً وعرفاناً لما بذله طيلة مسيرته وسيرته الحياتية، واستحقاقاً مقابل ما أنجزه من منجزات فكرية، وما قام به من دور في سبيل تنشيط الحركة الثقافية في بلاده، وقال «ما أجمل أن يحصل هذا التكريم والتقدير صغر أم كبر في حياته وقبل مماته، موضحاً أن تكريم المثقفين سبب رئيسي في العطاء المستدام للثقافة والفكر، والتكريم أياً كان أسلوبه ومستواه، يقدم المثقف إلى المجتمع، ويلفت الأنظار إلى نتاجه الثقافي، خصوصاً إذا تم بطريقة مبتكرة تتناغم مع ظروف المرحلة، ولفت إلى أهمية سؤال متى يعدل المجتمع ويسلط الضوء على نجوم الثقافة والفكر والأدب، كما يسلط الضوء على نجوم الفن والرياضة؟؛ بحكم أن الأديب والمثقف صانع للمعرفة والذاكرة الوطنية من خلال نتاجه الفكري، وحضوره الفاعل في المشهد الثقافي، فيما شهدت كثير من المنابر الأدبية المحلية تطوراً ملحوظاً في تكريم عدد من رموز الحركة الثقافيَّة السعودية في بلادنا؛ تقديراً منها لإسهاماتهم في إثراء ثقافة الوطن عبر مسيرة مليئة بالعطاءات والإنجازات المميّزة التي يفخر بها الوطن؛ مشيراً إلى ما حققته وزارة الثقافة من حضور مميز على خارطة تكريم المثقفين والأدباء والإعلاميين السعوديين من خلال مبادرة (الجوائز الثقافية الوطنية)؛ انطلاقاً من مسؤولياتها تجاه دعم الإنتاج الثقافي المحلي وتمكين المبدعين من مواصلة إبداعهم ومنجزاتهم الثقافية. وأضاف: إطلاق اسم الأديب السعودي على فعالية أو دعوته ضيف شرف لمناسبات الوطن، أعده عرفاناً وتقديراً وامتناناً في آن واحد، رغم أنه أحياناً يحمل اعتذاراً مبطناً، إلا أن العبرة بتحول التكريم والاحتفاء بالمثقف والأديب إلى ثقافة وممارسة راقية تتنافس عليها الكثير من مؤسساتنا الحكومية، ومؤسسات القطاع الخاص لتمنح هؤلاء المثقفين والأدباء مكاناً يليق بمكانتهم في ذاكرة الوطن.
فيما أطلق الشاعر السمّاح عبدالله، على الحالة؛ وصف «الاحتفاء بوجداننا الثقافي» ويراه، في جانب كبير منه، تكريماً وامتناناً وعرفاناً، وقال لا أجد ضيراً في هذا الأمر، فالاحتفاء بالأسماء المؤثرة في الأنشطة المختلفة، فيه غنى للمحتفِين، وللمحتفى بهم، موضحاً أنه عندما نستعيد اسماً من أسماء أسلافنا المبدعين، إنما نستعيد بذلك الدور الفني والأدبي الذي قدموه لنا، وعدّها فرصة لإعادة درسهم وبحث منجزهم، وإعادة طرح نتاجهم الفكري وإصداراتهم التي يمكن أن تكون غير متوفرة، لافتاً إلى أنّ الأهم من كل ذلك، يتمثل في تعريف الناشئة بهم، خصوصاً مع وجود وسائل حداثية للمعرفة، قادت الكثير من الشباب إلى منابع ترفيهية للمعرفة، ما يجعلهم عرضة للبعد عن العمق الفكري المكون للوجدان النبيل، مؤكداً أن حضور الأسماء الوازنة فيه غنى للمحتفين بهذه الرموز، لنقرأ ما وصلنا بإبداعاتهم إليه، ولنعاين المسافة الفاصلة بيننا وبينهم، وحجم الإضافة التي يمكن أن نكون أضفناها على ما قدموه، إن كان ثمة إضافة، وذهب إلى أن الفكر سلسلة متواصلة، كل حلقة فيها تؤدي إلى الحلقة التي تليها، فإن انقطعت إحدى الحلقات عن السابقة عليها أو التالية لها، تصبح مجرد دائرة خاوية، لا عمق فيها ولا رؤية لها، وهذا التقليد المتبع في معارض الكتب أو الأنشطة المشابهة، وأضاف: الاحتفاء هو احتفاء بوجداننا الثقافي قبل أن يكون تسليعاً للفكر، بل إنني أوسع الفكرة أكثر من ذلك، وأدعو للاحتفاء بكل رموز الإبداع الإنساني، عربياً أو غير عربي، فأنا أرث من (وليم شيكسبير) و(موليير) و(جوته)، وربما الكثير من أدباء الإنجليز والفرنسيين والألمان.

وثمّن الناقد الدكتور أحمد القيسي لأي جهة ثقافية أن تسمي جائزتها باسم أحد أعلام الأدب، لا سيما الأسماء التي قدمت للمكتبة أعمالاً خالدةً لا يُختَلف على قيمتها الأدبية؛ ومنهم نجيب محفوظ، والطيب صالح، اللذين قدما أعمالاً روائية فارقة في الأدب العربي، وأطلقت جائزتين باسمهما في مجال الرواية. مثلما أطلق أدبي الطائف جائزة باسم الشاعر محمد الثبيتي، وما زال المجال يتسع في مجال الشعر وغيره. وقال لا أرى للتوقيت أهمية، فسواء كانت في حياة الأديب أو عقب مماته.. ما يهمني أن نختار للجائزة الاسم المناسب دون محاباة. واستغرب غياب أسماء أعلام الشعر العربي القديم عن الجوائز، ومنهم المتنبي، وأبو تمام.. مثل ما هناك مهرجانات والملتقيات؛ منها ملتقى علي بن المقرب العيوني.
The index of naming cultural and artistic events has risen, honoring the names of deceased writers and intellectuals, and immortal names have been launched for book fair seasons; this opens the door wide to the question: Is naming a literary figure after a cultural event or occasion a necessity or a luxury? Is it a late acknowledgment or timely gratitude? Or an apology for shortcomings towards them, or a marketing investment given that some names are attractive and hold great esteem among readers? The question was posed to a select group of writers to clarify their perspectives on the dimensions of such initiatives, and what about their transformation into a phenomenon?
The writer Sahm bin Dawai Al-Dahjani considers it a tribute to the intellectual and the writer from society and its public and private institutions, a crowning and acknowledgment of what they have contributed throughout their career and life story, and a deserving recognition for their intellectual achievements and the role they played in revitalizing the cultural movement in their country. He said, “How beautiful it is for this honor and appreciation to occur, whether small or large, in their lifetime and before their death,” explaining that honoring intellectuals is a main reason for the sustainable contribution to culture and thought. Regardless of the style and level of the honor, it presents the intellectual to society and draws attention to their cultural output, especially if done in an innovative way that resonates with the circumstances of the time. He pointed out the importance of the question: When will society adjust and shine a light on the stars of culture, thought, and literature, as it does with the stars of art and sports? Given that the writer and intellectual are creators of knowledge and national memory through their intellectual output and active presence in the cultural scene, many local literary platforms have witnessed a noticeable development in honoring several symbols of the Saudi cultural movement in our country; in appreciation of their contributions to enriching the culture of the nation through a journey filled with distinguished contributions and achievements that the nation takes pride in. He referred to what the Ministry of Culture has achieved in terms of a distinguished presence on the map of honoring Saudi intellectuals, writers, and media figures through the initiative of (National Cultural Awards); stemming from its responsibilities towards supporting local cultural production and enabling creators to continue their creativity and cultural achievements. He added: Naming a Saudi writer after an event or inviting them as a guest of honor for national occasions is considered a recognition, appreciation, and gratitude at the same time. Although it sometimes carries a veiled apology, the essence lies in transforming the honor and celebration of the intellectual and writer into a culture and refined practice that many of our governmental institutions and private sector institutions compete for, to grant these intellectuals and writers a place befitting their status in the nation’s memory.
Meanwhile, the poet Al-Samah Abdullah described the situation as “celebrating our cultural conscience,” seeing it, in large part, as a tribute, gratitude, and acknowledgment. He said, “I see no harm in this matter, as celebrating the influential names in various activities enriches both the celebrators and the honorees.” He clarified that when we recall a name from our creative ancestors, we are indeed recalling the artistic and literary role they provided us with, considering it an opportunity to revisit their lessons, research their achievements, and reintroduce their intellectual output and publications that may not be available. He pointed out that the most important aspect of all this is to introduce the youth to them, especially with the existence of modern means of knowledge that have led many young people to sources of entertainment for knowledge, making them susceptible to drifting away from the intellectual depth that forms noble sentiment. He emphasized that the presence of significant names enriches those celebrating these symbols, allowing us to read what we have reached through their creations and to examine the gap between us and them, and the extent of the addition we may have contributed to what they presented, if there is any addition. He went on to say that thought is a continuous chain, where each link leads to the next; if one link is disconnected from the previous or the following one, it becomes merely an empty circle, lacking depth and vision. This is the tradition followed in book fairs or similar activities. He added, “Celebration is a celebration of our cultural conscience before it is a commodification of thought. In fact, I expand the idea beyond that and call for celebrating all symbols of human creativity, whether Arab or non-Arab. I inherit from (William Shakespeare) and (Molière) and (Goethe), and perhaps many English, French, and German writers.”
More utilization of creative names
The critic Dr. Ahmed Al-Qaisi valued any cultural entity that names its award after one of the literary figures, especially those who have contributed timeless works to the library that are undisputed in their literary value; among them are Naguib Mahfouz and Tayeb Salih, who presented groundbreaking novels in Arabic literature, and two awards have been launched in their names in the field of novel writing. Similarly, the Taif Literary Club launched an award named after the poet Muhammad Al-Thubaiti, and the field continues to expand in poetry and other areas. He said, “I do not see the timing as important; whether it is during the writer’s life or after their death… What matters to me is that we choose the appropriate name for the award without favoritism.” He expressed surprise at the absence of names of ancient Arab poetry giants from the awards, such as Al-Mutanabbi and Abu Tammam, just as there are festivals and gatherings, including the Ali bin Al-Muqrab Al-Ayouni Forum.
