أعلنت هيئة التراث تسجيل 1414 موقعاً أثرياً جديداً في السجل الوطني للآثار، لترتفع بذلك حصيلة المواقع الأثرية المسجلة إلى 12991 موقعاً أثرياً، بما يعكس تنوع وثراء التراث الثقافي في المملكة، ويؤكد اتساع نطاق الجهود الوطنية المبذولة لحصر المواقع الأثرية وتوثيقها، وتمكين الاستفادة منها بوصفها موارد ثقافية واقتصادية تدعم التنمية الوطنية.
وشملت المواقع الأثرية المسجلة حديثاً مناطق المملكة كافة، وذلك على النحو التالي: منطقة الرياض بعدد 525 موقعاً أثرياً، ومنطقة مكة المكرمة 378 موقعاً أثرياً، ومنطقة المدينة المنورة 6 مواقع أثرية، ومنطقة القصيم 64 موقعاً أثرياً، والمنطقة الشرقية 17 موقعاً أثرياً، ومنطقة عسير 10 مواقع أثرية، ومنطقة تبوك 17 موقعاً أثرياً، ومنطقة حائل 68 موقعاً أثرياً، ومنطقة الحدود الشمالية 5 مواقع أثرية، ومنطقة جازان 34 موقعاً أثرياً، ومنطقة نجران 5 مواقع أثرية، ومنطقة الباحة موقعين أثريين، ومنطقة الجوف 283 موقعاً أثرياً.
ويستند تسجيل هذه المواقع إلى النظام المتعلق بالآثار والتراث العمراني الصادر بالمرسوم الملكي بتاريخ 9/1/1436هـ، وما تضمنه من أحكام تنظم إجراءات تسجيل المواقع الأثرية وإدارتها وحمايتها، إضافة إلى قرار مجلس إدارة هيئة التراث الذي منح الرئيس التنفيذي صلاحية تسجيل المواقع الأثرية والتراثية، بما يعزز كفاءة الإجراءات التنظيمية ويرسخ الأطر النظامية لحماية التراث الثقافي في المملكة.
وأكدت الهيئة أن تسجيل المواقع الأثرية يمثل خطوة أساسية ضمن منظومة إدارة التراث الثقافي، إذ يتيح إدراج المواقع ضمن السجل الوطني للآثار توفير الحماية النظامية لها، وتنظيم أعمال البحث والتنقيب والدراسة العلمية فيها، إضافة إلى دعم جهود التخطيط العمراني وحماية المواقع ذات القيمة التاريخية من التأثيرات السلبية للتوسع العمراني أو الأنشطة غير المرخصة، كما يسهم التسجيل في تعزيز فرص الاستثمار الثقافي في المواقع المؤهلة، ودعم المبادرات الوطنية الرامية إلى إبراز المقومات الحضارية للمملكة وتعزيز حضورها الثقافي على المستويين المحلي والدولي.
ودعت هيئة التراث المواطنين والمقيمين إلى الإبلاغ عن المواقع الأثرية أو أي ممارسات تمس سلامة المواقع الأثرية، عبر خدمة «بلاغ أثري» المتاحة من خلال قنواتها الرسمية، أو مراجعة فروعها ومكاتبها في مختلف مناطق المملكة، أو من خلال التواصل معها عبر حساباتها على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، أو عبر الاتصال بمركز العمليات الأمنية الموحدة 911، مؤكدة أن الشراكة المجتمعية تمثل إحدى الركائز الأساسية في حماية التراث الوطني وصونه.
The Heritage Authority announced the registration of 1,414 new archaeological sites in the national register of antiquities, raising the total number of registered archaeological sites to 12,991, reflecting the diversity and richness of the cultural heritage in the Kingdom, and confirming the extensive national efforts made to document and protect archaeological sites, enabling their use as cultural and economic resources that support national development.
The newly registered archaeological sites encompass all regions of the Kingdom as follows: Riyadh region with 525 archaeological sites, Makkah region with 378 archaeological sites, Madinah region with 6 archaeological sites, Qassim region with 64 archaeological sites, Eastern region with 17 archaeological sites, Asir region with 10 archaeological sites, Tabuk region with 17 archaeological sites, Ha’il region with 68 archaeological sites, Northern Borders region with 5 archaeological sites, Jazan region with 34 archaeological sites, Najran region with 5 archaeological sites, Al-Baha region with 2 archaeological sites, and Al-Jouf region with 283 archaeological sites.
The registration of these sites is based on the system related to antiquities and urban heritage issued by the royal decree dated 9/1/1436 AH, which includes provisions regulating the procedures for registering, managing, and protecting archaeological sites, in addition to the decision of the Board of Directors of the Heritage Authority that granted the CEO the authority to register archaeological and heritage sites, enhancing the efficiency of regulatory procedures and solidifying the legal frameworks for protecting cultural heritage in the Kingdom.
The Authority emphasized that the registration of archaeological sites represents a fundamental step within the cultural heritage management system, as it allows for the inclusion of sites in the national register of antiquities, providing them with legal protection, organizing research, excavation, and scientific study activities, in addition to supporting urban planning efforts and protecting historically valuable sites from the negative impacts of urban expansion or unlicensed activities. Registration also contributes to enhancing opportunities for cultural investment in eligible sites and supports national initiatives aimed at highlighting the civilizational components of the Kingdom and enhancing its cultural presence at both local and international levels.
The Heritage Authority called on citizens and residents to report any archaeological sites or practices that may affect the integrity of archaeological sites through the “Archaeological Report” service available through its official channels, or by visiting its branches and offices in various regions of the Kingdom, or by contacting it through its social media accounts, or by calling the Unified Security Operations Center at 911, emphasizing that community partnership represents one of the essential pillars in protecting and preserving national heritage.
