كشف مفوض الاتحاد الأوروبي لشؤون الطاقة دان يورغسن، أن الاتحاد الأوروبي يعتمد على منطقة الخليج للتزود بنسبة 40% من حاجته لوقود الطائرات والديزل.
وأوضح الدبلوماسي لقناة العربية أن احتياطيات أوروبا من وقود الطائرات محدودة لدى القطاع الخاص.
وأشار الدبلوماسي إلى أن احتياطيات الحكومات الأوروبية من وقود الطائرات ليست محدودة تقريبا.
كما حذر من خطر انقطاع إمدادات وقود الطائرات الذي سيهدد الدول الأوروبية غير الأعضاء في الاتحاد الأوروبي.
وأضاف الدبلوماسي أن بريطانيا الأكثر عرضة لخطر انقطاع إمدادات وقود الطائرات بعد أسابيع لأنها لا تكرر إطلاقاً وقود الطائرات.
أزمة إمدادات
وصرح دان يورغنسن، مفوض الاتحاد الأوروبي لشؤون الطاقة، بأن التكتل يقترب بسرعة من أزمة إمدادات محتملة، ما سيؤدي إلى ارتفاع الأسعار وإلغاء رحلات.
وقال مسؤولون تنفيذيون في شركات طيران أوروبية، في مارس الماضي إنهم من المرجح أن يمرروا ارتفاع تكاليف الوقود إلى المستهلكين إذا ظل مضيق هرمز مغلقاً لفترة أطول.

The diplomat explained to Al Arabiya that Europe’s reserves of jet fuel are limited in the private sector.
The diplomat noted that European governments’ reserves of jet fuel are almost not limited.
He also warned of the risk of a jet fuel supply disruption that would threaten non-EU European countries.
The diplomat added that the UK is the most vulnerable to a jet fuel supply disruption in the coming weeks as it does not refine jet fuel at all.
Supply Crisis
Dan Jørgensen, the EU Commissioner for Energy, stated that the bloc is rapidly approaching a potential supply crisis, which will lead to rising prices and flight cancellations.
European airline executives stated last March that they are likely to pass on rising fuel costs to consumers if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed for a longer period.
