وتعود القصة إلى زيارة عمل قام بها الطبيب ضياء العوضي إلى دبي، لتنتهي بوفاته بشكل مفاجئ داخل غرفته بالفندق. ورغم أن التقارير الرسمية هناك أكدت عدم وجود شبهة جنائية، إلا أن أسرة الطبيب ومحاميهم أصروا على وجود «فترة اختفاء» مريبة سبقت الوفاة، وتضارباً في الروايات حول تحركاته الأخيرة، مما دفعهم للمطالبة بتفريغ كاميرات المراقبة وفتح تحقيق موسع يقطع الشك باليقين.

The Mystery of the “Autopsy” and the Shocking Testimony of the Wife
At the heart of the case, observers are awaiting the results of the Attorney General’s decision to exhume the doctor’s body and conduct a re-autopsy in Egypt, in response to the family’s request, which completely rejected the initial Emirati report that indicated “natural causes of death.”
However, the shocking revelation made by the lawyer (before his arrest) came from the doctor’s wife, who stated after attending the autopsy procedures in Sharqia Governorate that “the body does not resemble her husband,” pointing to physical observations that raised deep suspicions in her, and confirming that there were details that did not match the identity of the deceased.
The story dates back to a business trip that Dr. Diaa Al-Awady made to Dubai, which ended with his sudden death inside his hotel room. Although official reports there confirmed the absence of any criminal suspicion, the doctor’s family and their lawyer insisted on the existence of a suspicious “disappearance period” prior to the death, and conflicting accounts regarding his last movements, prompting them to demand the review of surveillance camera footage and the opening of a comprehensive investigation to dispel any doubts.
Between the prosecution’s decision to release the lawyer and the results of the re-autopsy awaited by the deceased’s family with “held breath,” the file of Dr. Diaa Al-Awady remains hanging by a thin thread.
