التدابير التي تتخذها وزارة الصحة لضبط الأداء وتعزيز أخلاقيات المهنة والتصدّي لكل الدخلاء عليها، تثمر من وقت لآخر عن كشف وردع بعض من اتخذوا من المهنة الإنسانية وسيلة للتكسّب والشهرة. وجاءت عملية ضبط مقيم زاول المهنة بلا ترخيص وباع أدوية تخضع للرقابة الطبية في الرياض في إطار سلسلة عمليات ضبط المهنة بمعاييرها العلمية والسلوكية ضماناً لسلامة المرضى والارتقاء بجودة الخدمات. ويحدّد نظام مزاولة المهن الصحية في السعودية الضوابط القانونية والمهنية لممارسة الطب، إذ يشترط الحصول على ترخيص سارٍ من الوزارة، والالتزام بالأصول العلمية، وتطوير المعرفة المهنية. كما يفرض النظام واجبات، منها السرية المهنية، الإبلاغ عن الأمراض المعدية، وحظر ممارسة طرق علاج غير معترف بها. كما ربطت الوزارة أداء المهنة بالحصول على اعتماد الجهات المعنية، ويخضع المتقدمون للمهن الصحية لشروط صارمة في التأهيل العلمي وحسن السيرة والسلوك. كما فرضت معايير حاسمة على المستشفيات العامة والخاصة بما يضمن سلامة المراجعين وضمان حقوقهم الأصلية في الحصول على علاج آمن وفعال وحظر ممارسة الطب البديل إلا بعد الحصول على ترخيص من الوزارة، كما منعت صرف بعض الأدوية إلا بموجب وصفة طبية معتمدة.

The system also imposes obligations, including professional confidentiality, reporting infectious diseases, and prohibiting the practice of unrecognized treatment methods. Additionally, the ministry linked professional performance to obtaining accreditation from relevant authorities, and applicants for health professions are subject to strict conditions regarding scientific qualification and good conduct. Critical standards have also been imposed on both public and private hospitals to ensure the safety of patients and guarantee their fundamental rights to receive safe and effective treatment, prohibiting alternative medicine practices unless a license is obtained from the ministry, and restricting the dispensing of certain medications to those with an approved prescription.
