أثار الإعلامي الرياضي السعودي الشهير وليد الفراج جدلاً واسعاً بعد أن وجه رسالة مباشرة وقاسية إلى نجم ليفربول والمنتخب المصري محمد صلاح، بشأن الشائعات المتجددة حول إمكانية انتقاله إلى الدوري السعودي (دوري روشن).
وقال الفراج في تغريدة له عبر منصة «إكس»: «أتمنى للنجم الكبير محمد صلاح ختاماً مثالياً لمسيرته الملهمة التي قام بها في إنجلترا.. البقاء في أوروبا أو أمريكا سيكون مناسباً له أكثر من احترافه في الشرق الأوسط».
وأضاف: «صلاح لم يعد يناسب خطط روشن المقبلة، سيُطالب بما كان يقدمه قبل 3 سنوات وجمهورنا لا يرحم، ولا أظنه يحتاج هذا الضغط الآن».
تأتي تغريدة الفراج في وقت تتحدث فيه تقارير غربية، خصوصاً إنجليزية، عن استمرار اهتمام بعض أندية الدوري السعودي بالتعاقد مع صلاح خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية المقبلة، ومع ذلك، يرى الفراج أن مرحلة التعاقدات «الكبرى» دون قيود عمرية قد انتهت، وأن التركيز الآن ينصب على بناء فرق تنافسية طويلة الأمد.

يُذكر أن صلاح كان قد تلقى عروضاً سعودية مغرية سابقاً، لكنه فضل البقاء في أوروبا، ولا يزال يقدم مستويات مميزة رغم تقدمه في السن نسبياً بالنسبة للاعبي الأجنحة الهجومية.
The famous Saudi sports broadcaster Walid Al-Faraj sparked widespread controversy after he directed a direct and harsh message to Liverpool star and Egyptian national team player Mohamed Salah regarding the renewed rumors about the possibility of his transfer to the Saudi league (Roshen League).
Al-Faraj said in a tweet on the platform “X”: “I wish the great star Mohamed Salah an ideal conclusion to his inspiring career in England.. staying in Europe or America would be more suitable for him than playing in the Middle East.”
He added: “Salah no longer fits Roshen’s upcoming plans; he will be demanded to perform as he did three years ago, and our audience is unforgiving, and I don’t think he needs that pressure right now.”
Al-Faraj’s tweet comes at a time when Western reports, particularly from England, are discussing the continued interest of some Saudi league clubs in signing Salah during the upcoming summer transfer window. Nevertheless, Al-Faraj believes that the era of “major” signings without age restrictions has ended, and the focus now is on building long-term competitive teams.
Mohamed Salah is considered one of the greatest Arab players in history, having achieved exceptional accomplishments with Liverpool, winning numerous titles and individual awards, and becoming a symbol of Arab success in the English Premier League.
Social media users reacted strongly to Al-Faraj’s message, with opinions divided between supporters who see it as realistic advice and opponents who consider it an overstep or a doubt in the abilities of the Egyptian “Pharaoh.”
It is worth noting that Salah had previously received tempting Saudi offers, but he preferred to stay in Europe, and he continues to deliver outstanding performances despite his relatively advanced age for attacking wing players.
