ارتفعت أسعار المنتجين في الولايات المتحدة بأكثر من المتوقع في أبريل الماضي، مسجلة أكبر ارتفاع لها منذ أوائل 2022، في أحدث مؤشر على تسارع التضخم وسط الحرب مع إيران.
وقال «مكتب إحصاءات العمل» التابع لـ «وزارة العمل» اليوم: «إن مؤشر أسعار المنتجين للطلب النهائي قفز 1.4% الشهر الماضي بعد ارتفاع معدل بالزيادة إلى 0.7% في مارس الماضي».
أكبر صعود
وكان الارتفاع الذي سجل الشهر الماضي هو أكبر صعود منذ مارس 2022، وشمل جميع السلع والخدمات.
وارتفعت أسعار المنتجين بشدة هذا العام، لأسباب منها ارتفاع تكاليف الطاقة، بعد أن عطلت الحرب الأمريكية الإسرائيلية مع إيران الشحن في مضيق هرمز.
وتفرض هذه الحرب ضغوطاً على سلاسل التوريد العالمية، مما يتسبب في نقص مجموعة واسعة من السلع، منها الأسمدة والألمنيوم والمنتجات الاستهلاكية.
وفي الاثني عشر شهراً المنتهية في أبريل الماضي، قفز مؤشر أسعار المنتجين 6.0%. وكانت هذه أكبر زيادة منذ ديسمبر 2022، وجاءت بعد ارتفاع 4.0% في مارس الماضي.
ويعكس جزء من الارتفاع في معدل مؤشر أسعار المنتجين على أساس سنوي خروج القراءات المنخفضة للعام الماضي من الحساب.
Producer prices in the United States rose more than expected in April, marking the largest increase since early 2022, in the latest sign of accelerating inflation amid the war with Iran.
The “Bureau of Labor Statistics” under the “Department of Labor” said today: “The Producer Price Index for final demand jumped 1.4% last month after a revised increase of 0.7% in March.”
Largest Rise
The increase recorded last month was the largest rise since March 2022 and included all goods and services.
Producer prices have surged this year, due in part to rising energy costs, after the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran disrupted shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
This war is putting pressure on global supply chains, causing shortages of a wide range of goods, including fertilizers, aluminum, and consumer products.
In the twelve months ending in April, the Producer Price Index jumped 6.0%. This was the largest increase since December 2022, following a rise of 4.0% in March.
Part of the increase in the year-over-year Producer Price Index reflects the low readings from last year dropping out of the calculation.
