في قلب العاصمة الماليزية كوالالمبور وفي لفتةٍ تُجسّد كرم الوفادة وعمق الروابط الثقافية أقامت هيئة الأدب والنشر والترجمة السعودية أمسية فنية وثقافية باذخة الاحتفاء، جمعت تحت لوائها نسيجاً فريداً من الدبلوماسيين المسؤولين والمثقفين من كلا البلدين لتُدشّن بذلك جسراً جديداً من جسور التواصل الإنساني والحضاري على هامش الحضور المهيب للمملكة العربية السعودية بوصفها ضيف الشرف في معرض كوالالمبور الدولي للكتاب 2026.
وشهدت الأمسية التي نظمتها الهيئة حضوراً لافتاً تقدّمه الرئيس التنفيذي للهيئة الدكتور عبداللطيف بن عبدالعزيز الواصل، وسفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى ماليزيا أسامة بن داخل الأحمدي، ووزير التعليم الماليزي فاضلينا صديق، إلى جانب حشد من السفراء ورؤساء الجامعات الماليزية ونخبة من أهل الفكر والإعلام الذين حلّوا ضيوفاً على المنظمين السعوديين.
وفي كلمة ترحيبية عطّرت أجواء اللقاء أكد الدكتور عبداللطيف الواصل أن تنظيم الهيئة لهذه الفعالية وحلول المملكة ضيف شرف في هذا المحفل الدولي ليس إلا امتداداً لرسالة السعودية الثقافية الموجهة للعالم، وتجسيداً لحرصها على صياغة حوار معرفي دائم مع الشعوب مستندةً إلى تاريخ ممتد من التعاون والإخاء مع ماليزيا، موجهاً شكره الوافر لوزير الثقافة الأمير بدر بن عبدالله بن فرحان آل سعود.
من جانبه أشار السفير الأحمدي إلى أن هذه المحافل الفنية والثقافية التي تقيمها المملكة تمثل نافذة مشرعة تطلّ منها الشعوب على ثراء الهوية السعودية وتنوعها؛ من موسيقى، وأدب وأزياء، وفنون تراثية، مبيناً دور الهيئة الجوهري في توثيق عُرى الصداقة، وإبراز الحراك التنموي الشامل الذي تعيشه المملكة تحت ظلال رؤية السعودية 2030.
وعانقت الفنون الأدائية السعودية أجواء كوالالمبور حيث تمايلت الفرق الفنية على إيقاعات «الخطوة» و«السامري» و«الخبيتي» في لوحات فلكلورية نالت استحسان الحضور. كما حظي الحضور برحلة تذوق استثنائية تعرفوا من خلالها على مائدة الضيافة السعودية العريقة التي تختزل بتنوعها ثراء موروثها باختلاف مناطق المملكة.
وتأتي هذه الأمسية الغنّاء كجزء من برنامج ثقافي متكامل تقوده هيئة الأدب والنشر والترجمة بنجاح واقتدار، يزخر بالندوات الفكرية، والجلسات الحوارية، والعروض الحية التي تستمر في نشر ألقها حتى السابع من يونيو.
In the heart of Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, and in a gesture that embodies the generosity of hospitality and the depth of cultural ties, the Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Authority held a lavish artistic and cultural evening, bringing together a unique fabric of responsible diplomats and intellectuals from both countries to inaugurate a new bridge of human and civilizational communication on the sidelines of the grand presence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the guest of honor at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2026.
The evening, organized by the authority, witnessed a notable attendance led by the CEO of the authority, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Malaysia, Osama bin Dakhel Al-Ahmadi, and the Malaysian Minister of Education, Fadhlina Siddiq, along with a crowd of ambassadors, heads of Malaysian universities, and a select group of thinkers and media representatives who were guests of the Saudi organizers.
In a welcoming speech that perfumed the atmosphere of the meeting, Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Wasel affirmed that the authority’s organization of this event and the Kingdom’s role as the guest of honor at this international gathering is nothing but an extension of Saudi Arabia’s cultural message directed to the world, and a manifestation of its commitment to crafting a continuous intellectual dialogue with peoples, based on a long history of cooperation and brotherhood with Malaysia, expressing his deep gratitude to the Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Ahmadi pointed out that these artistic and cultural gatherings organized by the Kingdom represent an open window through which peoples can glimpse the richness and diversity of Saudi identity; from music, literature, and fashion to traditional arts, highlighting the authority’s essential role in strengthening the bonds of friendship and showcasing the comprehensive developmental movement that the Kingdom is experiencing under the auspices of Saudi Vision 2030.
Saudi performing arts embraced the atmosphere of Kuala Lumpur as artistic groups swayed to the rhythms of “Al-Khattwa,” “Al-Samri,” and “Al-Khubayti” in folkloric performances that were well-received by the audience. The attendees also enjoyed an exceptional tasting journey through which they learned about the rich Saudi hospitality table that encapsulates its diverse heritage from different regions of the Kingdom.
This vibrant evening comes as part of a comprehensive cultural program successfully led by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Authority, filled with intellectual seminars, dialogue sessions, and live performances that continue to spread their brilliance until June 7.
