رغم تمديد وقف إطلاق النار، لا تزال المفاوضات الأمريكية الإيرانية تواجه عقبات كبيرة تتعلق بالملف النووي والعقوبات الاقتصادية وترتيبات الملاحة في مضيق هرمز.
ونقلت وكالة «مهر» الإيرانية، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، عن مصدر مطلع قوله إن النص النهائي لمذكرة التفاهم المحتملة بين إيران والولايات المتحدة لإنهاء الحرب «لا يزال قيد النقاش في طهران، ولم يُرسل أي رد حتى الآن»، معتبراً أن «سجل الولايات المتحدة في عدم الالتزام بالاتفاقات، إلى جانب حالة التشكيك، دفعا إيران إلى التعامل مع الملف بقدر كبير من التشدد والحذر».
وأضاف المصدر، المقرب من فريق التفاوض الإيراني، أن «طهران تسعى، استناداً إلى تجارب سابقة، إلى ضمان تحقيق مكاسب وفوائد فعلية وملموسة من أي اتفاق محتمل».
من جهته، نقل التلفزيون الإيراني عن مسؤول عسكري قوله: «لا مفر من العودة إلى الحرب مع الولايات المتحدة».
في المقابل، قال مصدر إقليمي لشبكة «سي إن إن» إن المحادثات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران عادت إلى مسارها الصحيح، بعدما أعلنت طهران، أمس، وقف تبادل الرسائل مع واشنطن على خلفية التصعيد الإسرائيلي في لبنان.
وكان الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب قد قال في وقت سابق إن المفاوضات مع إيران مستمرة بوتيرة سريعة، مبيناً أنه أجرى اتصالاً مع رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، واتفقا على «وقف الهجوم الإسرائيلي على بيروت».
وأشار ترمب إلى أن «الأمور تبدو جيدة»، مبيناً أن اتفاق سلام مع إيران قد يكون «أفضل حتى من انتصار عسكري».
ولفت إلى أن «الأمر ليس بسيطاً.. نحن نتحدث عن دولة كبيرة جداً تبرم اتفاقاً في ظل عداء شديد».
Despite the extension of the ceasefire, U.S.-Iranian negotiations still face significant obstacles related to the nuclear file, economic sanctions, and navigation arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian news agency “Mehr” reported today (Tuesday) that a knowledgeable source stated that the final text of the potential memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States to end the war “is still under discussion in Tehran, and no response has been sent so far,” considering that “the United States’ record of non-compliance with agreements, along with a state of skepticism, has led Iran to handle the file with a great deal of rigidity and caution.”
The source, close to the Iranian negotiating team, added that “Tehran is seeking, based on previous experiences, to ensure that it achieves actual and tangible gains and benefits from any potential agreement.”
For his part, Iranian television quoted a military official as saying: “There is no escape from returning to war with the United States.”
In contrast, a regional source told CNN that talks between the United States and Iran have returned to the right track, after Tehran announced yesterday that it would halt the exchange of messages with Washington in light of the Israeli escalation in Lebanon.
U.S. President Donald Trump had previously stated that negotiations with Iran are continuing at a rapid pace, indicating that he had a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and they agreed to “stop the Israeli attack on Beirut.”
Trump noted that “things look good,” indicating that a peace agreement with Iran could be “better than a military victory.”
He pointed out that “it’s not simple… we are talking about a very large country reaching an agreement amid intense hostility.”
