استيقظت العاصمة العراقية بغداد، يوم الإثنين، على وقع سلسلة من الحوادث المفجعة التي هزت أوساط المجتمع، بعد تسجيل 4 حالات انتحار متزامنة لشباب وفتيات في مقتبل العمر بمناطق متفرقة، انتهت حياتهم جميعاً بالطريقة ذاتها وخلال ساعات معدودة.
بدأت خيوط المأساة تتكشف في منطقة الثعالبة، إذ أنهت فتاة تبلغ من العمر 24 عاماً حياتها شنقاً باستخدام شال نسائي علقته في مروحة سقف غرفتها، وتشير التحقيقات الأولية إلى أن الحادثة جاءت نتيجة ضغوط نفسية حادة كانت تعاني منها أخيراً. ولم تمضِ ساعات حتى فُجعت منطقة الأمين الثانية بحادثة مماثلة، صدمت الأهالي؛ إذ أقدمت فتاة في الـ18 من عمرها على إنهاء حياتها بالطريقة نفسها مستخدمة شالها، إثر تلقيها نبأ عدم تأهلها لأداء الامتحانات الوزارية، وهو ما أدخلها في حالة من الإحباط الشديد.
توالت البلاغات لتصل إلى منطقة القاهرة، إذ عُثر على شاب في الـ16 من عمره فارق الحياة بعدما شنق نفسه بواسطة حبل معلق في السقف، ووفقاً للمعلومات الأولية المتوفرة لدى الأجهزة الأمنية، فإن الشاب كان يمر بأزمة وصراع مع مرض نفسي قاده إلى هذه النهاية الحزينة. ولم تتوقف الفاجعة عند هذا الحد، بل امتدت لتسجل أصغر الضحايا في حادثة رابعة هزت الوجدان، لفتى لم يتجاوز الـ14 من عمره، أنهى حياته شنقاً بحبل داخل منزل عائلته لأسباب غامضة لا تزال قيد التحقيق والمتابعة من قبل الجهات المختصة.
The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, woke up on Monday to a series of tragic incidents that shook the community, following the recording of 4 simultaneous suicide cases involving young men and women in their prime across various areas, all ending their lives in the same manner within a few hours.
The threads of the tragedy began to unravel in the Al-Thaalba area, where a 24-year-old girl ended her life by hanging herself with a women’s scarf that she attached to the ceiling fan in her room. Initial investigations indicate that the incident resulted from severe psychological pressures she had been experiencing recently. Within hours, the Al-Amin Second area was shocked by a similar incident that stunned the residents; an 18-year-old girl took her own life in the same manner using her scarf after receiving the news that she did not qualify to take the ministerial exams, which plunged her into a state of deep despair.
Reports continued to come in from the Al-Qahira area, where a 16-year-old boy was found dead after hanging himself with a rope attached to the ceiling. According to initial information available to security forces, the young man was going through a crisis and struggling with a mental illness that led him to this sad end. The tragedy did not stop there; it extended to record the youngest victim in a fourth incident that shook the conscience, a boy who had not yet turned 14, who ended his life by hanging with a rope inside his family’s home for reasons that remain mysterious and are still under investigation and follow-up by the relevant authorities.
