شهر من المعاناة والتشخيصات الخاطئة
مضت الأيام وطوى يوري صفحة الحادثة، إلا أن عينه اليسرى لم تتركه في سلام؛ إذ كانت نوبات متقطعة من الألم والانزعاج تنتابه بين الحين والآخر، ثم لجأ إلى عدد من أطباء العيون الذين وصفوا له علاجات متنوعة، لكنها جميعاً باءت بالفشل، ولم يتمكن أيٌّ منهم من تحديد السبب الحقيقي وراء معاناته.
التدهور المفاجئ وصدمة الاكتشاف
وقبل ثلاثة أشهر، انقلب حال يوري رأساً على عقب؛ فقد تحوّل الانزعاج إلى ألم لا يُطاق، وبدأ بصره يتراجع بشكل ملحوظ، وما إن حضر إلى مستشفى كورسك الإقليمي مطلع هذا الشهر حتى أجرى الأطباء له فحص MRI، ليكشف عن جسم غريب ممتد من تجويف عينه عمقاً داخل الجمجمة.
وأجرى الأطباء فحوصات دقيقة باستخدام التصوير بالرنين المغناطيسي، لتكشف النتائج مفاجأة صادمة؛ إذ تبين وجود جسم غريب طويل يمتد من محجر العين إلى عمق الجمجمة.
وأوضح الأطباء أن الفحص بالأشعة المقطعية أظهر أن الجسم الغريب عبارة عن غصن شجرة اخترق محجر العين، وتسبب في تدمير بعض الجيوب الأنفية وإلحاق أضرار بقاعدة الجمجمة، في منطقة قريبة بشكل خطير من تراكيب دماغية حيوية.
وعند إبلاغه بالنتائج، تذكر يوري حادثة تقطيع الأخشاب التي تعرض لها قبل نحو عام، ليتضح أنها كانت السبب وراء حالته الغامضة.
ونجح الفريق الطبي في إجراء عملية دقيقة لإزالة الغصن الخشبي، الذي بلغ طوله نحو 12 سنتيمتراً، عبر الأنف ومن دون الحاجة إلى أي شقوق جراحية خارجية. وأسفرت العملية عن الحفاظ على بصر المريض ومنع حدوث مضاعفات خطيرة محتملة.

A Month of Suffering and Misdiagnoses
Days passed, and Yuri put the incident behind him, but his left eye did not leave him in peace; intermittent bouts of pain and discomfort would strike him from time to time. He then consulted several ophthalmologists who prescribed various treatments, but all were unsuccessful, and none of them could determine the true cause of his suffering.
The Sudden Deterioration and Shock of Discovery
