قبل ساعات من افتتاح منتدى اقتصادي مهم يحضره الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، هاجمت مسيّرات أوكرانية صباح اليوم (الأربعاء) منشآت عسكرية ومواقع للطاقة في سان بطرسبورغ.
وأكد حاكم المدينة ألكسندر بيغلوف تضرر عدة بنى تحتية جراء الهجوم، من دون وقوع قتلى، فيما توعد المتحدث باسم الكرملين دميتري بيسكوف بالرد على الهجمات.
في المقابل، وصف الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي الهجوم على محطة سان بطرسبورغ النفطية وقاعدة كرونشتادت العسكرية في المدينة بأنه «انتقامي»، كرد على الصواريخ بعيدة المدى التي تطلقها روسيا.
ويرى مسؤولون أوكرانيون أن الهدف هو إرباك المنتدى الذي يشارك فيه الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين ويستمر ثلاثة أيام.
وكان ألكسندر دروزدينكو، حاكم لينينغراد الروسية، قد قال في وقت سابق اليوم إن روسيا أسقطت 30 طائرة مسيّرة فوق المنطقة الواقعة شمال غربي موسكو، وتواصل صد الهجمات، وذلك مع اقتراب موعد بدء منتدى اقتصادي سنوي مهم.
وتستضيف منطقة لينينغراد، التي تضم بنية تحتية حيوية لتصدير الطاقة ومصفاة نفط رئيسية، مؤتمرها الاقتصادي الخامس في زمن الحرب في سان بطرسبورغ، الذي يصفه الرئيس فلاديمير بوتين بـ«دافوس الروسي»، اعتباراً من اليوم الأربعاء.
وكانت وزارة الخارجية الروسية قد اتهمت، أمس، أوكرانيا بمحاولة زعزعة استقرار منطقة البحر الأسود من خلال شن هجمات بطائرات أو زوارق مسيّرة على السفن المدنية، ثم اتهام روسيا كذباً بالمسؤولية عنها.
وأشارت المتحدثة باسم وزارة الخارجية، ماريا زاخاروفا، إلى ما وصفته بأنه هجوم أوكراني بزوارق مسيّرة على ناقلات نفط بالقرب من الساحل التركي ومضيق البوسفور في 28 مايو، موضحة أن موسكو مستعدة للتعاون مع أنقرة لاستعادة استقرار الوضع.
Hours before the opening of an important economic forum attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian drones attacked military facilities and energy sites in St. Petersburg this morning (Wednesday).
The city’s governor, Alexander Beglov, confirmed that several infrastructures were damaged due to the attack, with no casualties reported, while Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov vowed to respond to the attacks.
In contrast, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the attack on the St. Petersburg oil terminal and the Kronstadt military base in the city as “retaliatory,” in response to the long-range missiles launched by Russia.
Ukrainian officials believe the goal is to disrupt the forum in which Russian President Vladimir Putin is participating, which lasts for three days.
Earlier today, Alexander Drozdenko, the governor of Leningrad Oblast, stated that Russia had shot down 30 drones over the area northwest of Moscow and continues to repel the attacks, as the start of the important annual economic forum approaches.
The Leningrad region, which has vital energy export infrastructure and a major oil refinery, is hosting its fifth economic conference during wartime in St. Petersburg, which President Vladimir Putin describes as the “Russian Davos,” starting today, Wednesday.
The Russian Foreign Ministry accused Ukraine yesterday of attempting to destabilize the Black Sea region by launching drone attacks on civilian ships and then falsely blaming Russia for them.
Spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, referred to what she described as a Ukrainian drone attack on oil tankers near the Turkish coast and the Bosphorus Strait on May 28, explaining that Moscow is ready to cooperate with Ankara to restore stability to the situation.
