يواجه حارس المنتخب السعودي محمد العويس منتخب الأوروغواي للمرة الثانية في كأس العالم، إذ كانت المواجهة الأولى في مونديال روسيا 2018، والتي انتهت بخسارة الأخضر بهدف مقابل لا شيء سجله المهاجم سواريز، وستكون المواجهة الثانية أمام الأورغواي الثلاثاء 16 يونيو الجاري، الساعة 1:00 صباحاً، في كأس العالم 2026.
ويشارك العويس مع المنتخب السعودي للمرة الثالثة في كأس العالم، إذ كانت الأولى في مباراة وحيدة ضد منتخب الأوروغواي في مونديال 2018، والثانية في 3 مباريات أمام منتخب الأرجنتين وانتهت بانتصار الأخضر بنتيجة 1/2، وضد منتخبي بولندا والمكسيك وخسر الأخضر المباراتين بهدفين مقابل لا شيء. ويطمح العويس للظهور بشكل فني مختلف في مشاركته في كأس العالم 2026، حينما يواجه منتخبات الأوروغواي، وإسبانيا، والرأس الأخضر.
Saudi national team goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais faces Uruguay for the second time in the World Cup, as their first encounter was in the 2018 Russia World Cup, which ended in a loss for the Green team with a goal to nothing scored by striker Suarez. The second match against Uruguay will be on Tuesday, June 16, at 1:00 AM, in the 2026 World Cup.
Al-Owais is participating with the Saudi national team for the third time in the World Cup, having played once against Uruguay in the 2018 World Cup, and twice in 3 matches against Argentina, which ended in a 1-2 victory for the Green team, and against Poland and Mexico, where the Green team lost both matches with a score of 2-0. Al-Owais aims to showcase a different performance in his participation in the 2026 World Cup when he faces the teams of Uruguay, Spain, and Cape Verde.
