أعلنت الشرطة السريلانكية مصرع 12 شخصاً وإصابة 8 آخرين بحريق اندلع في دار لرعاية المسنين في غرب سريلانكا.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم الشرطة فريدريك ووتلر أن الحريق اندلع أمس داخل دار الرعاية الواقعة في بلدة أنجورواتوتا، مضيفاً أنه تم إنقاذ 51 من المقيمين في الدار.
وأعلنت السلطات السريلانكية القبض على مدير دار الرعاية للاشتباه في تسببه في الوفيات نتيجة الإهمال، فيما يجري التحقيق لتحديد أسباب الحريق وملابساته.
The Sri Lankan police announced the death of 12 people and the injury of 8 others in a fire that broke out at a nursing home in western Sri Lanka.
Police spokesperson Frederick Wootler explained that the fire erupted yesterday inside the nursing home located in the town of Anguruwatota, adding that 51 residents of the home were rescued.
The Sri Lankan authorities announced the arrest of the nursing home director on suspicion of causing the deaths due to negligence, while an investigation is underway to determine the causes and circumstances of the fire.
