كشفت تقارير إعلامية أمريكية عن تصاعد المخاوف داخل المؤسسات الأمنية الأمريكية من أنشطة تجسس إسرائيلية دفعت وزارة الدفاع الأمريكية (البنتاغون) إلى تشديد إجراءات الحماية ورفع مستوى التحذير الأمني إلى أعلى درجاته، بالتزامن مع زيارات مسؤولين إسرائيليين إلى واشنطن.
رسالة داخلية ترفع التصنيف إلى «حرج»
ونقلت شبكة «إن بي سي» عن مسؤولين أمريكيين أن رسالة داخلية صادرة عن أجهزة الاستخبارات التابعة للبنتاغون رفعت مستوى تصنيف التهديد المرتبط بالتجسس الإسرائيلي إلى درجة «حرج»، وهي من أعلى درجات التقييم الأمني المعتمدة داخل المؤسسات الأمريكية.
وبحسب المصادر، فإن المخاوف لا تتعلق فقط بجمع المعلومات التقليدية، بل تمتد إلى احتمالات مراقبة مسؤولين أمريكيين كبار والتأثير على عملية صنع القرار المتعلقة بملفات الشرق الأوسط.
احتياطات إضافية خلال الزيارات الإسرائيلية
وأكد مسؤول أمريكي أن الولايات المتحدة بدأت بالفعل اتخاذ احتياطات أمنية إضافية عند استقبال مسؤولين إسرائيليين في واشنطن، في خطوة تعكس حجم القلق داخل بعض الدوائر الأمنية من احتمالات التعرض لمحاولات جمع معلومات أو مراقبة غير مصرح بها.
كما أفاد دبلوماسيون ومسؤولون سابقون في الأمن القومي الأمريكي بأن إسرائيل عُرفت على مدى سنوات بتنفيذ أنشطة تجسس «عدوانية» ضد الولايات المتحدة، مشيرين إلى أن بعض التقديرات الحالية ترى أن الجهود الإسرائيلية الأخيرة تجاوزت الحدود المعتادة والمتوقعة.

في المقابل، نقلت «إن بي سي» عن متحدث باسم السفارة الإسرائيلية في واشنطن نفيه صحة المزاعم المتعلقة بقيام إسرائيل بأنشطة تجسس داخل الولايات المتحدة، واصفاً هذه الادعاءات بأنها «غير صحيحة».
كما نقلت الشبكة عن مسؤول في البيت الأبيض قوله إن ما يُتداول بشأن وجود قضية تجسس إسرائيلية على الولايات المتحدة «قصة زائفة»، في حين تستمر النقاشات داخل الأوساط الأمنية حول طبيعة التهديد ومستواه الحقيقي.
American media reports have revealed a rise in concerns within U.S. security institutions regarding Israeli espionage activities, prompting the U.S. Department of Defense (the Pentagon) to tighten protective measures and elevate the security alert level to its highest degree, coinciding with visits by Israeli officials to Washington.
Internal message raises classification to “Critical”
NBC reported that U.S. officials stated an internal message from Pentagon intelligence agencies raised the threat level associated with Israeli espionage to “Critical,” which is one of the highest security assessment levels recognized within U.S. institutions.
According to sources, the concerns are not only related to traditional information gathering but extend to the possibilities of monitoring senior U.S. officials and influencing the decision-making process regarding Middle Eastern issues.
Additional precautions during Israeli visits
A U.S. official confirmed that the United States has already begun taking additional security precautions when hosting Israeli officials in Washington, reflecting the level of concern within certain security circles about the potential for unauthorized information gathering or monitoring.
Diplomats and former U.S. national security officials have noted that Israel has been known for years to carry out “aggressive” espionage activities against the United States, indicating that some current estimates believe recent Israeli efforts have exceeded the usual and expected boundaries.
Concerns about monitoring senior officials
Sources indicated that American anxiety is focused on the possibility of Israeli attempts to monitor or track senior U.S. officials, which has led the relevant authorities to enhance preventive security measures.

Israel denies the accusations
In contrast, NBC reported a spokesperson for the Israeli embassy in Washington denying the claims regarding Israel’s espionage activities within the United States, describing these allegations as “false.”
The network also quoted a White House official stating that the discussions regarding the existence of an Israeli espionage case against the United States are a “fabricated story,” while discussions continue within security circles about the nature of the threat and its real level.
