أكد الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون، اليوم (الأربعاء)، أن الهدف من المفاوضات بين بلاده وإسرائيل في واشنطن هو استعادة الدولة لدورها وسيادتها، مشدداً على ضرورة ألا يبقى اللبنانيون تابعين لأي جهة كانت.
وقال عون، خلال لقائه شيخ عقل طائفة الموحدين الدروز وممثلي رؤساء الطوائف، إن الهدف من المفاوضات مع إسرائيل في واشنطن هو استعادة الدولة لوجودها ودورها، بحيث لا يبقى اللبنانيون تابعين لأيٍّ كان، سواء من خلال سلطة وصاية أو عبر تفاوض أي طرف باسمهم.
وأضاف: «اتخذت قرار المفاوضات، وسأمضي فيه حتى النهاية؛ لأن لبنان عضو مؤسس في الأمم المتحدة، وله كيانه وسيادته، وانطلاقاً من قناعتي بأن الحروب لا تحقق أي نتائج سوى الخسائر التي يتكبدها الجميع».
وشدد بالقول: «نحن أصحاب قرار، ولبنان دولة ذات سيادة وبلد يمتلك كيانه ومقدراته وشعبه، الذي كانت له إسهامات بارزة في نهضة العديد من البلدان، وباستطاعته اليوم الإسهام في إعادة إعمار ونهضة بلاده».
وأضاف: «ممنوع العودة إلى زمن الوصايات مهما كانت، ونحن نرحب بمساعدة أي دولة، لكن الفرق كبير بين المساعدة والتدخل في الشأن الداخلي اللبناني لمصلحة أي دولة على حساب المصلحة اللبنانية، وهو أمر لا نقبله».
ولفت عون إلى أنه «لا يمكن العيش خارج إطار الدولة، وهو ما أثبتته التجارب، وما عدا ذلك يُعد خطيئة»، مبيناً أن ما يقوم به ينطلق من هدف واحد يتمثل في وقف الاعتداءات، وانسحاب إسرائيل، وعودة النازحين والأسرى، وانتشار الجيش في الجنوب وتوليه وحده مسؤولية الأمن، وإعادة الإعمار.
وأشار إلى وجود توافق تام مع رئيسي مجلسي النواب والوزراء، خلافاً لما يُثار في وسائل الإعلام، مؤكداً أنه حتى في حال وجود اختلاف في الرأي، فإنه يُعد أمراً طبيعياً ومصدراً للثراء، في ظل استمرار التواصل بين الجميع، وأن الهدف المشترك هو تحقيق المصلحة العامة.
وقال: «العلاقة التي تجمعنا أكثر من ممتازة، ومهما قيل خلاف ذلك فهو غير صحيح».
وشدّد على ضرورة استعادة الدولة دورها وتعزيز مؤسساتها كافة بما يحفظ الأمن والاستقرار، ويعزّز الاقتصاد والقضاء، ويحافظ على الوحدة الداخلية الكفيلة بمواجهة كل الصعوبات والأطماع الإسرائيلية.
The Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirmed today (Wednesday) that the goal of the negotiations between his country and Israel in Washington is to restore the state’s role and sovereignty, emphasizing the necessity for the Lebanese not to remain dependent on any party.
Aoun stated during his meeting with the Sheikh of the Druze community and representatives of the heads of sects that the aim of the negotiations with Israel in Washington is to restore the state to its existence and role, so that the Lebanese do not remain dependent on anyone, whether through a guardianship authority or through any party negotiating on their behalf.
He added, “I have made the decision to negotiate, and I will pursue it to the end; because Lebanon is a founding member of the United Nations, and it has its entity and sovereignty, and based on my conviction that wars achieve no results other than the losses incurred by everyone.”
He emphasized by saying, “We are the decision-makers, and Lebanon is a sovereign state and a country that possesses its entity, resources, and people, who have made significant contributions to the renaissance of many countries, and it is capable today of contributing to the reconstruction and revival of its homeland.”
He added, “Returning to the era of guardianships is prohibited, no matter what they are, and we welcome the assistance of any country, but there is a significant difference between assistance and interference in Lebanese internal affairs for the benefit of any country at the expense of Lebanese interests, which is something we do not accept.”
Aoun pointed out that “it is impossible to live outside the framework of the state, as proven by experiences, and anything else is considered a sin,” indicating that what he is doing is based on one goal, which is to stop the aggressions, the withdrawal of Israel, the return of the displaced and prisoners, the deployment of the army in the south, taking sole responsibility for security, and reconstruction.
He noted that there is complete agreement with the heads of the House of Representatives and the Council of Ministers, contrary to what is raised in the media, confirming that even in the case of differing opinions, it is considered a natural matter and a source of richness, as long as communication continues among everyone, and that the common goal is to achieve the public interest.
He said, “The relationship that binds us is more than excellent, and whatever is said otherwise is not true.”
He stressed the necessity of restoring the state’s role and enhancing all its institutions in a way that preserves security and stability, strengthens the economy and judiciary, and maintains internal unity capable of facing all difficulties and Israeli ambitions.
