قدمت مؤسسة التلفزة التونسية اعتذاراً رسمياً إلى الجزائر، بعد الجدل الواسع الذي أثاره بث خريطة للجزائر بحدود غير مطابقة لحدودها المعترف بها دولياً خلال برنامج «استوديو المونديال»، المخصص لمتابعة وتحليل منافسات كأس العالم.
وقالت المؤسسة في بيان مصور إن الخطأ وقع أثناء البث المباشر للبرنامج نتيجة استخدام الفريق التقني خريطة تم تحميلها من شبكة الإنترنت دون إخضاعها للمراجعة والتدقيق اللازمين قبل عرضها على الشاشة، ليتضح لاحقاً أنها تتضمن معلومات جغرافية غير دقيقة تتعلق بالجزائر.
وأكدت التلفزة التونسية أن ما حدث كان خطأ غير مقصود ولا يعكس بأي حال من الأحوال موقف المؤسسة أو الدولة التونسية تجاه الجزائر، مشددة على احترامها الكامل لسيادة الجزائر ووحدة أراضيها.
وأضافت أن الواقعة لا تحمل أي أبعاد سياسية، وإنما تعود إلى خطأ تقني وفردي في إعداد المادة البصرية المستخدمة داخل البرنامج، مؤكدة اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لتفادي تكرار مثل هذه الأخطاء مستقبلاً.
وجددت المؤسسة تمسكها بالعلاقات الأخوية والتاريخية التي تربط تونس والجزائر، مشيرة إلى أن الروابط بين البلدين تتجاوز مثل هذه الحوادث العرضية.
وجاء الاعتذار الرسمي بعد موجة من الانتقادات على وسائل الإعلام ومنصات التواصل الاجتماعي في الجزائر، إذ اعتبر عدد من المتابعين والإعلاميين أن ظهور خريطة غير دقيقة للجزائر على شاشة قناة عمومية يثير تساؤلات بشأن آليات التدقيق المعتمدة قبل بث المواد الجغرافية والسياسية الحساسة.
وكانت الخريطة المثيرة للجدل قد ظهرت ضمن استوديو تحليلي خاص ببطولة كأس العالم، تضمن خريطة للقارة الأفريقية وأعلام المنتخبات المشاركة، قبل أن يلاحظ متابعون جزائريون وجود حدود لا تتطابق مع الحدود الرسمية المعترف بها للجزائر، ما أدى إلى تصاعد المطالب بتقديم توضيحات رسمية.
وترتبط تونس والجزائر بعلاقات إستراتيجية وتاريخية وثيقة تمتد لعقود، وتشمل تعاوناً سياسياً وأمنياً واقتصادياً واسعاً، كما يتقاسم البلدان حدوداً مشتركة تمتد لأكثر من ألف كيلومتر، ويحرصان باستمرار على التنسيق في مختلف الملفات الإقليمية.
وشهدت السنوات الأخيرة عدة وقائع مشابهة في مؤسسات إعلامية دولية وإقليمية، اضطرت خلالها جهات إعلامية إلى تقديم اعتذارات رسمية بسبب استخدام خرائط غير محدثة أو غير دقيقة، وهو ما دفع العديد من المؤسسات إلى تشديد إجراءات المراجعة والتدقيق قبل بث المواد البصرية ذات الطابع الجغرافي والسياسي.
The Tunisian Television Corporation issued an official apology to Algeria following the widespread controversy sparked by the broadcast of a map of Algeria with borders that do not match its internationally recognized boundaries during the “World Cup Studio” program, which is dedicated to following and analyzing the World Cup competitions.
The corporation stated in a video statement that the error occurred during the live broadcast of the program due to the technical team’s use of a map downloaded from the internet without subjecting it to the necessary review and verification before displaying it on screen, later revealing that it contained inaccurate geographical information regarding Algeria.
The Tunisian television confirmed that what happened was an unintentional mistake and does not reflect in any way the position of the corporation or the Tunisian state towards Algeria, emphasizing its full respect for Algeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
It added that the incident does not carry any political dimensions but rather stems from a technical and individual error in preparing the visual material used in the program, confirming that necessary measures have been taken to avoid the recurrence of such mistakes in the future.
The corporation reiterated its commitment to the brotherly and historical relations that bind Tunisia and Algeria, noting that the ties between the two countries transcend such incidental events.
The official apology came after a wave of criticism on media and social media platforms in Algeria, as several followers and journalists considered that the appearance of an inaccurate map of Algeria on the screen of a public channel raises questions about the verification mechanisms in place before broadcasting sensitive geographical and political materials.
The controversial map appeared within a special analytical studio for the World Cup, which included a map of the African continent and flags of the participating teams, before Algerian viewers noticed the presence of borders that do not match the officially recognized borders of Algeria, leading to increased demands for official clarifications.
Tunisia and Algeria share close strategic and historical relations that have lasted for decades, encompassing extensive political, security, and economic cooperation. The two countries also share a common border that extends for more than a thousand kilometers and continuously strive to coordinate on various regional issues.
In recent years, there have been several similar incidents in international and regional media institutions, during which media entities were forced to issue official apologies due to the use of outdated or inaccurate maps, prompting many institutions to tighten review and verification procedures before broadcasting visually sensitive geographical and political materials.
