أشاد رئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم ياسر المسحل، بالمستوى المشرف الذي قدمه المنتخب السعودي أمام نظيرة الأوروغواياني في المباراة التي جمعتهما ضمن الجولة الأولى من منافسات المجموعة الثامنة، وانتهت بالتعادل الإيجابي (1-1)، جاء ذلك عبر تغريدة من حسابه الرسمي في منصة التواصل الاجتماعي «x»قال فيها:« قدم لاعبو المنتخب الوطني روحاً عالية وجهداً كبيراً في أولى مبارياتنا في كأس العالم 2026، بدعم ومؤازرة من جماهير الوطن الوفية التي ساندت وشجعت طوال المباراة».
وأضاف يقول:« أشكر اللاعبين والطاقم الفني والإداري والطبي على ما قدموه، ونعود بحول الله لمواصلة الإعداد للمباراة القادمة بكل قوة وتركيز، سعياً لتحقيق الأهداف وإسعاد الجماهير».
ويخوض المنتخب السعودي مباراته الثانية في دور المجموعات أمام نظيره الإسباني يوم الأحد المقبل، فيما يلتقي منتخب الأوروغواي مع الرأس الأخضر.

This was stated in a tweet from his official account on the social media platform “x,” where he said: “The players of the national team showed great spirit and effort in our first match in the 2026 World Cup, with support and encouragement from the loyal fans of the nation who backed and cheered throughout the match.”
He added: “I thank the players, the technical, administrative, and medical staff for what they have done, and we will return, God willing, to continue preparing for the next match with all strength and focus, striving to achieve our goals and make the fans happy.”
The Saudi national team will play its second match in the group stage against the Spanish team next Sunday, while the Uruguayan team will face Cape Verde.
