توعّد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب إيران بـ«حرب ضروس»، محذراً من أن أبواب الجحيم ستفتح عليها لو سعت إلى الحصول على سلاح نووي، معتبراً أنها كانت لتفجر المنطقة لو حازته.
وقال ترمب، في تصريحات صحفية خلال لقاء أمير قطر الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني في فرنسا على هامش مشاركتهما في قمة السبع اليوم (الثلاثاء)، إن الاتفاق مع إيران سينتقل إلى «مرحلة ثانية»، واصفاً إياه بـ«العادل».
وأضاف: «أبرمنا اتفاقنا مع إيران، لا بد وأنه سينجح، وسينتقل إلى مرحلة ثانية أعتقد أنها ستكون أسهل». وأكد «إيران ستواجه حرباً ضروساً إذا حاولت الحصول على سلاح نووي». وشدّد الرئيس الأمريكي على أن إيران لن يكون بوسعها الحصول على سلاح نووي أو شراؤه أو تطويره أبداً. وكرر أن أبواب الجحيم ستفتح على إيران لو سعت إلى الحصول على سلاح نووي، معتبراً أنها كانت لتفجر المنطقة لو حازته.
وأكد أن إيران كانت على بعد أسبوعين من حيازة سلاح نووي، وأنها لن تمتلك سلاحاً نووياً بموجب الاتفاق. وشدّد ترمب على أن أمريكا لن نستثمر أي أموال في إيران، موضحاً أن واشنطن ليست ملتزمة باستثمار أي أموال.
وأوضح أنه لم يعد مهتماً بتغيير النظام في إيران، لافتاً إلى أن الصفوف الأول والثاني والثالث في القيادة السابقة تم القضاء عليها، معرباً عن اعتقاده بأنه يمكن التعامل مع القيادة الجديدة. وأكد رغبة أمريكا في الحصول على اليورانيوم المخصب من إيران.
واعتبر ترمب أن الحرب اللبنانية «ثانوية» وأن الاتفاق النووي مع إيران يمكن أن يصمد.
وانتقد هجوم إسرائيل الأخير على بيروت، وقال إنه أخبر تل أبيب بأنه «لا يروق له». وقال: من دوني لن تكون هناك إسرائيل.
وكشف أنه اقترح على إسرائيل أن تتولى سورية أمر حزب الله في لبنان، مشيداً بالرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع. وقال: «إذا لم تستطع إسرائيل القيام بالمهمة دون قتل آخرين فعلى سورية أن تقوم بها».
وطالب نتنياهو بأن «يتصرف بمسؤولية أكبر تجاه لبنان»، مشدداً على أنه «هو من حمى إسرائيل».
من جانبه، أعرب متحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية القطرية عن «تفاؤل حذر» بأن مذكرة التفاهم بين أمريكا وإيران ستؤدي إلى المرحلة التالية من الأمن في المنطقة، حسبما نقلت «رويترز». وأضاف أن قطر سترسل من يمثلها في محادثات جنيف بين واشنطن وطهران.
ورفض المتحدث التعليق على ما تم تداوله بشأن تخصيص 300 مليار دولار لإعادة إعمار إيران، لكنه شدّد على «عدم صرف أي أموال قطرية بموجب هذا الإطار حتى الآن».
US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with a “fierce war,” warning that the gates of hell would open on it if it sought to acquire nuclear weapons, considering that it would explode the region if it possessed them.
Trump stated in press remarks during a meeting with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in France on the sidelines of their participation in the G7 summit today (Tuesday) that the agreement with Iran would move to a “second phase,” describing it as “fair.”
He added, “We have made our agreement with Iran; it must succeed, and it will move to a second phase that I believe will be easier.” He emphasized, “Iran will face a fierce war if it tries to obtain a nuclear weapon.” The US President stressed that Iran would never be able to acquire, buy, or develop a nuclear weapon. He repeated that the gates of hell would open on Iran if it sought to obtain a nuclear weapon, considering that it would explode the region if it possessed it.
He confirmed that Iran was two weeks away from acquiring a nuclear weapon and that it would not possess a nuclear weapon under the agreement. Trump stressed that America would not invest any money in Iran, clarifying that Washington is not committed to investing any funds.
He explained that he was no longer interested in changing the regime in Iran, pointing out that the first, second, and third ranks of the previous leadership had been eliminated, expressing his belief that it is possible to deal with the new leadership. He confirmed America’s desire to obtain enriched uranium from Iran.
Trump considered the Lebanese war “secondary” and that the nuclear agreement with Iran could withstand.
He criticized Israel’s recent attack on Beirut, stating that he told Tel Aviv that it “does not please him.” He said, “Without me, there would be no Israel.”
He revealed that he suggested to Israel that Syria should take care of Hezbollah in Lebanon, praising Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara. He said, “If Israel cannot carry out the mission without killing others, then Syria should do it.”
He urged Netanyahu to “act with greater responsibility towards Lebanon,” stressing that “he is the one who protected Israel.”
For his part, a spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry expressed “cautious optimism” that the memorandum of understanding between America and Iran would lead to the next phase of security in the region, according to “Reuters.” He added that Qatar would send a representative to the Geneva talks between Washington and Tehran.
The spokesperson declined to comment on reports regarding the allocation of $300 billion for the reconstruction of Iran, but emphasized that “no Qatari funds have been spent under this framework so far.”
