بات لاعب وسط منتخب جنوب أفريقيا «تيبوهو موكوينا»، أول لاعب يتأكد غيابه عن مباراة في دور المجموعات ببطولة كأس العالم 2026 بسبب تراكم البطاقات الصفراء، وذلك عقب مواجهة منتخب بلاده أمام التشيك التي انتهت بالتعادل الإيجابي 1-1، مساء الخميس.
وتلقى موكوينا بطاقة صفراء خلال المباراة أمام التشيك، بعدما كان قد حصل على إنذار سابق في الجولة الأولى أمام المكسيك، ليتأكد غيابه عن المواجهة الحاسمة لمنتخب «بافانا بافانا» أمام كوريا الجنوبية في الجولة الثالثة والأخيرة من منافسات المجموعة الأولى.
وشهدت المباراة تألق موكوينا رغم الإنذار، حيث سجل هدف التعادل لجنوب أفريقيا من ركلة جزاء في الدقيقة 83، ليمنح منتخب بلاده أول نقطة له في البطولة بعد خسارته الافتتاحية أمام المكسيك.
ويُعد موكوينا أول لاعب في النسخة الحالية من المونديال يتعرض لعقوبة الإيقاف بسبب تراكم البطاقات، في ضربة مؤثرة لمنتخب جنوب أفريقيا قبل مواجهته المرتقبة أمام كوريا الجنوبية.
كما يفتقد المنتخب الجنوب أفريقي خدمات زميله ثيمبا زواني، الذي تعرض للطرد في الجولة الأولى وتلقى عقوبة انضباطية إضافية، ما يزيد من التحديات التي تواجه الفريق في سعيه للتأهل إلى الأدوار الإقصائية.
South Africa’s midfielder “Teboho Mokwena” has become the first player confirmed to miss a match in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup due to accumulating yellow cards, following his national team’s match against the Czech Republic, which ended in a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening.
Mokwena received a yellow card during the match against the Czech Republic, having already been cautioned in the first round against Mexico, which means he will miss the crucial clash for the “Bafana Bafana” against South Korea in the third and final round of Group A matches.
Despite the caution, Mokwena shone in the match, scoring South Africa’s equalizer from a penalty in the 83rd minute, giving his country its first point in the tournament after losing the opening match against Mexico.
Mokwena is the first player in the current edition of the World Cup to face a suspension due to accumulated cards, a significant blow to South Africa ahead of their anticipated match against South Korea.
The South African team will also miss the services of his teammate Thimba Zwane, who was sent off in the first round and received an additional disciplinary sanction, increasing the challenges facing the team in their quest to qualify for the knockout stages.
