فيما وصف «علاقته برئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو جيدة جدا»، أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أنه لولا تدخله لسحقت إسرائيل. وأفاد ترمب في تصريحات لموقع «أكسيوس» الإخباري الأمريكي، اليوم (الجمعة)، بأن «عليه ضمان التزام نتنياهو بالمنطق السليم».
وشدد على أنه «قادر على منع إسرائيل من مهاجمة لبنان»، لافتاً إلى أن الإسرائيليين «يكنون له الاحترام ويفعلون ما يقوله». فيما جدد نتنياهو التأكيد على أن قوات الاحتلال ستبقى في جنوب لبنان طالما كان ذلك ضروريا.
وكان الرئيس الأمريكي اعتبر أمس أن على نتنياهو التعقل، في إشارة إلى استمرار القصف على جنوب لبنان، رغم أن مذكرة التفاهم التي وقعتها الولايات المتحدة مع إيران ليل الأربعاء نصت على وقف القتل على كافة الجبهات بما فيها لبنان.
واعتبر أن مذكرة التفاهم تمثل في جوهرها «استسلاماً إيرانياً غير مشروط»، مدافعاً عن الاتفاق. وجاءت تلك التصريحات بعدما وجه عدد من وزراء حكومة نتنياهو انتقادات حادة إلى الاتفاق، ما دفع نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جي دي فانس إلى الرد بقوة عليهم، داعياً إسرائيل إلى التذكر بأن واشنطن حليفها الأوحد حول العالم.
ونقلت صحيفة «فايننشيال تايمز»، الجمعة، عن مصادر دبلوماسية تأكيدها بأن إيران أرجأت المحادثات مع الولايات المتحدة في سويسرا بسبب الغارات الإسرائيلية على لبنان.
وذكرت أن إيران تسعى للحصول على ضمانات بإنهاء القصف في لبنان قبل استئناف المحادثات.
وكان الجيش الإسرائيلي، أعلن الجمعة، مهاجمة أكثر من 80 موقعاً في جنوب وشرق لبنان، بزعم استهداف عناصر ومواقع لـ«حزب الله». وأضاف أن قواته «تواصل عملياتها» في المناطق التي تحتلها بجنوب لبنان.
من جانبها، شددت وزارة الخارجية الباكستانية على أنه لا توجد أي عقبات أمام بدء المحادثات الأمريكية – الإيرانية، فيما أكد رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني شهباز شريف أن الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بزشكيان قبل دعوته لزيارة إسلام آباد، معرباً عن امتنانه على وقوفها إلى جانب إيران خلال الأوقات الصعبة. ووجّه شريف الشكر إلى قائد الجيش المشير عاصم منير، ونائب رئيس الوزراء إسحق دار، ومحسن نقوي.
While describing “his relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as very good,” U.S. President Donald Trump announced that without his intervention, Israel would have been crushed. Trump stated in remarks to the American news site “Axios” today (Friday) that “he has to ensure Netanyahu’s commitment to sound reasoning.”
He emphasized that he “is capable of preventing Israel from attacking Lebanon,” noting that the Israelis “respect him and do what he says.” Meanwhile, Netanyahu reiterated that the occupying forces will remain in southern Lebanon as long as necessary.
Yesterday, the American president considered that Netanyahu needs to be rational, referring to the ongoing bombing of southern Lebanon, despite the memorandum of understanding signed by the United States with Iran on Wednesday night, which stipulated a cessation of killing on all fronts, including Lebanon.
He regarded the memorandum of understanding as essentially representing “an unconditional Iranian surrender,” defending the agreement. These statements came after several ministers in Netanyahu’s government sharply criticized the agreement, prompting U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance to respond strongly to them, urging Israel to remember that Washington is its only ally in the world.
The “Financial Times” reported on Friday, citing diplomatic sources, that Iran has postponed talks with the United States in Switzerland due to Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon.
It mentioned that Iran is seeking guarantees to end the bombing in Lebanon before resuming talks.
The Israeli army announced on Friday that it attacked more than 80 sites in southern and eastern Lebanon, claiming to target elements and sites of “Hezbollah.” It added that its forces “continue their operations” in the areas they occupy in southern Lebanon.
For its part, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry emphasized that there are no obstacles to the start of U.S.-Iranian talks, while Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif confirmed that Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian accepted his invitation to visit Islamabad, expressing gratitude for Pakistan’s support for Iran during difficult times. Sharif thanked Army Chief General Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Mohsen Naqvi.
