اتهمت الحكومة اليمنية اليوم (السبت)، مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية بتوسيع نطاق الحصار المفروض على محافظة تعز، ليشمل معظم مديرياتها، محذرة من تداعيات التصعيد العسكري على حياة وأمن ومعيشة أكثر من ستة ملايين مواطن، ومؤكدة المضي في استعادة سلطة الدولة وإنهاء الانقلاب والحصار والمعاناة الإنسانية التي فرضتها المليشيا على اليمنيين.
وأعلن مجلس الوزراء دعمه الكامل لموقف السلطة المحلية في تعز، التي سخرت من المزاعم الحوثية بشأن مسؤولية السلطات المحلية عن إغلاق الطرق، ووصفتها بأنها محاولة مكشوفة لقلب الحقائق والتنصل من المسؤولية المباشرة عن الحصار المستمر على المدينة منذ نحو 12 عاماً، في وقت تتواصل التحشيدات العسكرية والهجمات على أرياف المحافظة ومناطقها الساحلية.
وأكد المجلس، في بيان، أن التصعيد الحوثي يمثل امتداداً لنهج المليشيا القائم على استخدام القوة المسلحة وفرض الأمر الواقع وتقويض مؤسسات الدولة، وتعريض المدنيين لمخاطر الحرب والنزوح والحرمان من مقومات الحياة الأساسية، مشدداً على أن تعز، بما تمثله من رمزية وطنية وتاريخية، ستظل في صدارة أولويات الدولة ومسؤولياتها.
تضليل حوثي
من جانبها، أكدت السلطة المحلية في تعز أن المليشيا التي فرضت حصاراً خانقاً على مدينة تعز، وحوّلت طرقها ومنافذها إلى خطوط مواجهة عسكرية، تواصل توسيع عملياتها العسكرية في أرياف المحافظة ومديرياتها ومناطقها الساحلية، مستهدفة شرايين الحياة والإمداد، ومعرّضة التجمعات السكانية والمنشآت المدنية لمخاطر الحرب.
واعتبرت أن حديث المليشيا عن فتح الطرق وتأمينها لا يتجاوز الدعاية السياسية والإعلامية التي تكذبها الوقائع الميدانية، وتفضحها التحشيدات الحربية والهجمات المتواصلة، مؤكدة أن الجهة التي صنعت مأساة الحصار وعمّقتها على مدى السنوات الماضية لا يمكنها تقديم نفسها حارساً للطرق أو ضامناً لسلامة المدنيين، بينما تواصل عمليات عسكرية تهدد حياتهم وسبل عيشهم.
وأشارت إلى أن تعز تمثل شاهداً بارزاً على ما خلفته حرب المليشيا من انتهاكات ومعاناة، إذ سقط عشرات الآلاف بين قتيل وجريح جراء القصف العشوائي والقنص والألغام، فضلاً عن تفاقم الأوضاع الإنسانية والاقتصادية، والقيود المفروضة على حركة المواطنين ووصول الغذاء والدواء والإمدادات المنقذة للحياة.
تحرك حكومي
وفي مواجهة التصعيد، وجّه مجلس الوزراء الجهات الحكومية والأمنية والعسكرية المختصة بالتنسيق مع السلطة المحلية لحماية المواطنين، وضمان استمرار الخدمات الأساسية وتيسير وصول الحاجات الإنسانية، ورفع مستوى الجاهزية للتصدي لأي تهديد يستهدف أمن المحافظة وسلامة سكانها، مع الالتزام بحماية المدنيين وممتلكاتهم واحترام قواعد القانون الدولي الإنساني.
وأكدت السلطة المحلية اضطلاعها بمسؤولياتها الدستورية والقانونية والوطنية في حفظ الأمن والاستقرار والسكينة العامة، وتعزيز صمود أبناء المحافظة، مشددة على الجاهزية الكاملة للقوات المسلحة والأجهزة الأمنية لمواجهة التهديدات، مع جعل حماية أرواح المواطنين وحقوقهم وممتلكاتهم أولوية مطلقة.
ودعت السلطات أبناء تعز في مختلف المديريات إلى التحلي باليقظة والمسؤولية الوطنية، والتعاون مع الجهات المختصة، وعدم الانسياق وراء الدعايات المضللة أو التعامل مع أي إجراءات وتوجيهات غير قانونية تصدر عن المليشيا، والإبلاغ عن أي تهديدات تستهدف المواطنين أو الممتلكات العامة والخاصة.
الحكومة تطالب بتحرك دولي
وطالب مجلس الوزراء المجتمع الدولي والأمم المتحدة بتحمل مسؤولياتهما والضغط على مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية لوقف عدوانها ورفع الحصار عن تعز فوراً، مجدداً التزام الحكومة باستعادة سلطة الدولة على كامل التراب الوطني، وإنهاء الانقلاب والحصار والمعاناة التي فرضتها المليشيا على اليمنيين.
كما أكد المجلس ضرورة تحقيق كامل أهداف عملية «فجر اليمن» التي أعلنها رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي، في سياق الجهود الرامية إلى استعادة مؤسسات الدولة وإنهاء التهديد الذي تمثله المليشيا.
وجددت السلطة المحلية التأكيد أن تعز، التي دفعت أثماناً باهظة دفاعاً عن حريتها وكرامتها ونظامها الجمهوري، لن تكون رهينة للحصار أو الابتزاز أو مشاريع العنف، وأن إنهاء معاناة أبنائها يتطلب وقف العدوان ورفع الحصار واحترام إرادة المواطنين واستعادة مؤسسات الدولة، وصولاً إلى سلام عادل وشامل يستحقه اليمنيون.
The Yemeni government accused the Houthi terrorist militia today (Saturday) of expanding the siege imposed on Taiz Governorate to include most of its districts, warning of the repercussions of military escalation on the lives, security, and livelihoods of more than six million citizens, and affirming its commitment to restoring state authority and ending the coup, the siege, and the humanitarian suffering imposed by the militia on the Yemenis.
The Cabinet announced its full support for the position of the local authority in Taiz, which mocked the Houthi claims regarding the responsibility of local authorities for closing roads, describing them as a blatant attempt to distort the facts and evade direct responsibility for the ongoing siege on the city for nearly 12 years, at a time when military mobilizations and attacks on the rural areas and coastal regions of the governorate continue.
The council confirmed, in a statement, that the Houthi escalation represents an extension of the militia’s approach based on the use of armed force, imposing facts on the ground, undermining state institutions, and exposing civilians to the dangers of war, displacement, and deprivation of basic life necessities, stressing that Taiz, with its national and historical symbolism, will remain a top priority for the state and its responsibilities.
Houthi Deception
For its part, the local authority in Taiz confirmed that the militia, which has imposed a suffocating siege on the city of Taiz and turned its roads and outlets into military confrontation lines, continues to expand its military operations in the rural areas and districts of the governorate and its coastal regions, targeting the lifelines and supply routes, and exposing population centers and civilian facilities to the dangers of war.
It considered that the militia’s talk about opening and securing roads is nothing more than political and media propaganda that is contradicted by the ground realities and exposed by the ongoing military mobilizations and attacks, asserting that the entity that created the tragedy of the siege and deepened it over the past years cannot present itself as a guardian of the roads or a guarantor of civilian safety while continuing military operations that threaten their lives and livelihoods.
It pointed out that Taiz stands as a prominent witness to the violations and suffering caused by the militia’s war, as tens of thousands have fallen between dead and wounded due to indiscriminate shelling, sniping, and landmines, in addition to the worsening humanitarian and economic situations, and the restrictions imposed on the movement of citizens and the access to food, medicine, and life-saving supplies.
Government Action
In response to the escalation, the Cabinet directed the relevant government, security, and military authorities to coordinate with the local authority to protect citizens, ensure the continuation of basic services, facilitate access to humanitarian needs, and raise the level of readiness to confront any threat targeting the security of the governorate and the safety of its residents, while committing to protecting civilians and their property and respecting the rules of international humanitarian law.
The local authority confirmed its commitment to its constitutional, legal, and national responsibilities in maintaining security, stability, and public order, and enhancing the resilience of the people of the governorate, stressing the full readiness of the armed forces and security agencies to confront threats, making the protection of citizens’ lives, rights, and properties an absolute priority.
Authorities called on the people of Taiz in various districts to remain vigilant and responsible, to cooperate with the relevant authorities, and not to be swayed by misleading propaganda or to engage with any illegal actions and directives issued by the militia, and to report any threats targeting citizens or public and private properties.
The Government Calls for International Action
The Cabinet called on the international community and the United Nations to fulfill their responsibilities and pressure the Houthi terrorist militia to stop its aggression and lift the siege on Taiz immediately, reiterating the government’s commitment to restoring state authority over all national territory, and ending the coup, the siege, and the suffering imposed by the militia on the Yemenis.
It also emphasized the necessity of achieving the full objectives of the “Dawn of Yemen” operation announced by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, in the context of efforts aimed at restoring state institutions and ending the threat posed by the militia.
The local authority reiterated that Taiz, which has paid a heavy price in defense of its freedom, dignity, and republican system, will not be a hostage to the siege, extortion, or violence projects, and that ending the suffering of its people requires stopping the aggression, lifting the siege, respecting the will of the citizens, and restoring state institutions, leading to a just and comprehensive peace that the Yemenis deserve.
