
أعربت وزارة الخارجية الكويتية عن إدانة دولة الكويت واستنكارها الشديدين للاعتداء السافر الذي شنته مليشيا الحوثي ضد مطار الملك خالد الدولي بمدينة الرياض في المملكة العربية السعودية أمس (السبت)، مما أسفر عن وقوع وفيات وإصابات في صفوف المدنيين الأبرياء من المسافرين والعاملين بالمطار من مواطنين سعوديين وجنسيات أخرى مختلفة، فضلاً عن تعليق العمليات التشغيلية فيه مؤقتاً.
وأكدت الخارجية في بيان لها اليوم (الأحد) أن هذا الاعتداء الذي وصفته بانتهاك صارخ للقانون الدولي والقانون الدولي الإنساني، وأن تكرار هذه الأعمال العدائية الممنهجة التي تستهدف الأعيان المدنية والمنشآت الحيوية يمثل تصعيداً خطيراً وتهديداً مباشراً لأمن الملاحة الجوية وسلامة المدنيين ويستوجب مساءلة المسؤولين عنها ومحاسبتهم.
وجددت الكويت تضامنها المطلق مع السعودية ووقوفها إلى جانبها ودعمها لكافة الإجراءات التي تتخذها لصون أمنها واستقرارها وحماية مواطنيها والمقيمين على أراضيها، مؤكدة أن أمن المملكة جزء لا يتجزأ من أمن الكويت وأمن دول مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية.
كما أعربت الكويت عن خالص تعازيها وصادق مواساتها للمملكة قيادة وحكومة وشعباً ولحكومات وشعوب الدول التي ينتمي إليها الضحايا ولأسرهم وذويهم، معربة عن تمنياتها للمصابين بالشفاء العاجل.
ودعت المجتمع الدولي إلى الاضطلاع بمسؤولياته واتخاذ موقف حازم حيال هذه الاعتداءات المتكررة بما يكفل حماية الأعيان المدنية ومنشآت الطيران المدني ويحول دون تكرارها مستقبلاً ويضمن عدم إفلات مرتكبيها من العقاب.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s condemnation and strong denunciation of the blatant attack launched by the Houthi militia against King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, yesterday (Saturday), which resulted in deaths and injuries among innocent civilians, including travelers and airport workers, both Saudi citizens and individuals of various nationalities, as well as the temporary suspension of operations at the airport.
The Ministry confirmed in a statement today (Sunday) that this attack, which it described as a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and the recurrence of these systematic hostile acts targeting civilian objects and vital facilities represents a serious escalation and a direct threat to the security of air navigation and the safety of civilians, necessitating accountability for those responsible and holding them to account.
Kuwait reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its security and stability and to protect its citizens and residents on its territory, affirming that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
Kuwait also expressed its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Kingdom’s leadership, government, and people, as well as to the governments and peoples of the countries to which the victims belong, and to their families and loved ones, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
It called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take a firm stance regarding these repeated attacks to ensure the protection of civilian objects and civil aviation facilities, prevent their recurrence in the future, and ensure that the perpetrators do not escape punishment.
