Colored lighting enters the world of beauty as one of the tricks that gives dark skin a different presence, as the carefully chosen shades help highlight the warmth of the natural color and add new dimensions to the facial features, especially in photo sessions and evening events.
Golden and amber lighting stands out as a suitable choice for dark skin, as it provides warmth and soft reflections that enhance bronzed tones, while pink lighting adds a vibrant touch to the features, and red lighting creates bold dramatic atmospheres suitable for artistic photos and showcase appearances.
Conversely, purple and blue lighting give photos a modern character, especially when used with dark backgrounds or makeup that harmonizes with the surrounding colors. The result varies depending on the intensity of the light, its saturation level, and its position, as strong or cool lighting may alter the appearance of skin color and obscure some of its natural details.
The success of this technique does not rely solely on color selection but also on the distribution of light and its balance with the primary lighting, to maintain the details of the face and the texture of the skin without exaggerating contrast or color saturation.
