The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Colonel Majid Abdullah Al-Nazili, announced today (Wednesday) the implementation of “Fajr Yemen,” which involved 2309 precise and direct targeting operations, using warplanes, drones, field artillery, rocket launchers, and sniper units.
He pointed out that the operation contributed to dismantling enemy defense lines, silencing sources of fire, crippling command and control centers, isolating front-line positions, striking reinforcements and reserves, and supply lines, as well as preparing the conditions for storming fortifications and expanding the breach and advance. He indicated that field estimates suggest the neutralization of about 1250 Houthi militants and the destruction and damage of more than 460 military vehicles and equipment.
Regarding the battles in Taiz, Al-Nazili stated: Focused airstrikes continue, along with well-planned ambushes, crushing militia convoys and reinforcements, depleting their capabilities, and thwarting their attempts to compensate for their losses and reorganize their forces.
The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces called on all residents in Houthi-controlled areas to reject Houthi recruitment, saying: The armed forces urge our people in areas under militia control to protect their children from recruitment campaigns and being dragged into its battles, and to stay away from military sites and gathering areas and combat zones.
Al-Nazili reiterated that the door for safe return and the amnesty announced by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, remains open to anyone who lays down their arms, stops fighting, and returns to their families and homeland.
The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces emphasized his forces’ commitment to the rules of international humanitarian law and limiting their operations to legitimate military targets, accusing the terrorist Houthi militia of continuing to target civilian objects and residential neighborhoods in Taiz, in a behavior that reflects their disregard for civilian lives, their indifference to international laws and norms, and their attempts to transfer the consequences of their military losses onto citizens and their homes.
