As the “Yemen Dawn” operation continues, several fronts witnessed a military escalation today (Sunday), with ongoing clashes between government forces and the Houthi militia in the provinces of Taiz, Lahij, and Marib, coinciding with military operations aimed at regaining control of areas held by the militia.
Taiz province is at the forefront of the battlefield, as a military source announced that government forces had regained control of the Al-Sarari and Al-Sunamat areas in the Al-Shuqab front, southeast of the province, following confrontations with the Houthis.
On the Al-Shuqab front, government forces announced the thwarting of a Houthi attack after violent clashes that lasted about eight hours, while the Taiz military axis reported the killing of 16 Houthi members and the injury of others, according to a toll announced yesterday (Saturday). Field reports indicated that airstrikes targeted Houthi positions and gatherings in areas west of the province.
In Lahij province, violent clashes occurred on the Al-Maqatirah front in the Tor Al-Baha military axis.
Government forces announced the destruction of a Houthi supply vehicle by a drone in the Al-Wazi’iyah area, while the Giants Brigades stated that they targeted the militia’s positions in Al-Mudharabah near the border with Lahij.
Meanwhile, in Marib and Al-Jawf, military operations against Houthi positions and gatherings continued, utilizing artillery and drones, alongside coalition airstrikes targeting command centers and supply warehouses, according to field reports.
These developments coincide with the deterioration of humanitarian conditions, especially in Taiz, where battles and restrictions on supply routes have led to shortages of food, fuel, and medical supplies. Humanitarian organizations have warned of the difficulty in delivering aid to hundreds of thousands of residents, as waves of displacement from combat areas continue.
